FRA parking questions

I figured the MM community would be the best to ask about this, but mods feel free to move, if necessary.

I will be departing from FRA next week and am planning on driving there with a campervan, leave it for a few days, and on return pick it up to start our holiday in Switzerland.

But...I can't seem to figure out where the park it! I found information on the FRA website about parking (http://www.airportcity-frankfurt.com...ay_parking.htm) but that doesn't tell me the maximum height restrictions and there is no phone number to find out.

Does anyone know if it's possible to park a campervan there?

Any other tips for cheap parking? I don't mind taking a longer bus/train ride, as long as the car is reasonably safe.

I think the Holiday Inn Express in Langen is offering Park&Fly....

I did that once and we pais € 79,- for one night in the Hotel (2 adults) and parking the car for 10 days

it is an open (=> no roof) parking lot with a solid fence around it, plus the area is fairly remote => safe

I am sure other Hotels offer something similar...

Hope that helps

... and using www.google.de helps as well :p

Just found something along the lines of Parkplatzvergleich....

I'll move this thread to the Germany forum as the question is not M&M or LH,OS,LX etc related.

Have a nice day

The standard underground parking facilities and standard parking garages can handle vehicles up to 2.10m height. For higher and larger vehicles they offer the XXL parking area which is parking area P36 XXL-Parking Area. An Alternative is the Holiday Parking Area which is an open parking lot Holiday Parking Area.

By the way I found all this information on the airport website.

Thanks for your replies. I hadn't seen the XXL parking (apols for my poor search skills!) but at E30 per day that's not really an option. The Holiday Parking page does not show height information but the XXL parking page does say, right at the bottom that the Holiday Park does not have any restrictions either, so that's great.

However, it is subject to availability so if it is full we have a problem as the other parking places are too small or too expensive.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to park a vehicle further away? (i.e. for free :p)

You can try to park in the Business district in Frankfurt Niederrad (e.g. Lyoner Straße). Alternatively you might consider the Holiday Inn Airport North Park and Stay Option, though this is not free.
