Berlin Taxis

I'll be in Berlin next week and there is a full transit strike. Does anybody know about the taxi situation in Berlin, will I still be able to get the cab from the airport in reasonable time?
Also should I worry about getting back to the TXL in the morning from Marriott Teltow? Heavy traffic or lack of taxis?
Thanks

Theres no Marriot in Teltow, there is a Courtyard by Marriott. I only mention it in case you were expecting a FS Marriott. The only Marriott is at Potsdamner Platz in DT Berlin

The only suggestion I can make regarding transportation is call the Hotel and have them arrange for a pick-up and drop off. This way you are covered, it might cost more, but I imagine you could always see if you can find a Taxi once there that will agree to take you to go back and you could cancel the Hotel car , but do inqire when you call to arrage with the Hotel if you can cancel the return and by when.

The TXL bus is one of the buses that is running during the emergency transit plan (in 20 minute intervals).

In addition, at least for now (the train drivers' union has announced the possibility of strikes beginning Monday), the S-Bahn will be running as normal.

I was in Berlin yesterday, and had no problem getting a taxi to the airport (THF in my case). We did book it the day before (knowing there was going to be a public transport strike) but saw plenty of empty taxis go past our hotel while we were waiting for our prebooked one. Things were remarkably normal in Berlin yesterday - we expected to see lots more cars on the road but there weren't; everybody must have either used the S-Bahn or cycled to work.

Of course if the S-Bahn goes on strike as well (it's on the cards) things could be different.

As Aviatrix said, trafiic and availablity of taxis in Berlin seem to be fine, just no transport other than S-Bahn. Had no trouble finding a cab when we arrived at TXL thurday afternoon, or anytime since then.

Be aware that the GDL, the train engineers' union, has announced a strike beginning Monday. The S-Bahn will run in the event of a strike, but will be severely limited in service.

The Ringbahn (circle line) will run in 30 minute intervals, the S45 and S85 will not operate, and all other S-Bahn lines will operate in 60 minute intervals.
