German Rail Pass
Hi -
I've just planned a mileage run to Germany in mid-Jan but will actually be staying for a few days to do some sightseeing. I ended up booking a 4-day German Rail Pass as I'll be criss-crossing the country. Here's the question - does anyone know what kind of passage/discount the German Rail Pass provides on the CNL overnight trains? I'm doing an overnight from Munich to Wolfsburg and was hoping to save travel time and money by doing the evening trip. However, I haven't gotten very far with the company through whom I purchased the pass. If anyone has any experience with this, I would be much appreciative. Thanks! |
You need to pay the accommodation charge for CNL trains. Your pass serves as your rail ticket. You can book online at http://www.citynightline.de (select 'accommodation surcharge only, ticket exists' under 'What is required?' on the booking search page) .
You will be able to get printable online ticket. (Here is a direct link to the English version: http://www.citynightline.de/nachtzug...en/index.shtml) For night trains departing after 7pm, you only need to mark the following day down on your pass as a travel day. |
Got it - Thanks for the help.
Wow, I never stop being amazed by the knowledge and helpfulness of people here on FT!^ |
