We drove Amsterdam - Prague a year and a half ago. Not sure offhand where Frankfurt fits in there on the map.
Canadians driving through half of Europe but having no clue were they went along. Friends: I do not believe that you avoided Frankfurt on your journey. It is very much in the heart of Germany and Europe and therefore difficult to avoid if you travel from the North-West direction South-East.:D |

Traveling alone, I generally like to go out for a nice meal in very good restaurant with a youngish crowd and then like to go to a bar/nightclub, etc. afterwards. Is this the type of city for this?
Nightclubs? Well, Konstanz is not directly New York City or London.... |

Very good restaurants for sure. This is south west Germany.

Most of our time was spent on smaller highways and roads exploring our way through the smaller towns and villages. In fact look at a map, if you have one. We overnighted in Kassel and Gera, then crossed into the Czech Republic at Altenberg, south of Dresden. Clearly we avoided Frankfurt, by some distance in fact. No clue where we went along? On the contrary. We had pretty good idea where we were going. |

How's the drive from Frankfurt to Prague. For fun, I'm thinking of doing it next month vs. flying. Google says 531 km, which it estimates at 5 hours. Can it REALLY take that long. I certainly don't plan on driving only 100 km/h. There are no more border checks, I assume? How are the highways in CZ? Seems about 150 km of driving on that side of the border. I like to drive, but this is just an overnight trip, so...

It was not meant harsh, but I could not help myself:p :D
I will confess, however, that I was enough of a tourist to open up the car on the autobahn. Who would have thought you could make a Ford Focus do 190kph? Cheers, AC110 |

If worst comes to worst you still can take a shuttle train to Zurich, takes 40min and Zurich is like a small NYC, at least for clubs. |
