MUC: how early before international flight

Hi all- I’m in Munich for the first time in many years and will be flying home to the US on AA the morning of Dec 25. What is the current best practice on how early to reach the airport? We’ll have checked luggage and have AA platinum status (so hopefully shorter checkin line) but are in economy. Am hoping to let the kids enjoy some breakfast in the hotel before we catch the train. Thanks!

Morning of the 25th ? 90 minutes is more than enough. And probably with lots of time to spare. Be aware it might be all shops and eateries are closed, included airside and landside. Staff will be heavily reduced but so be passengers numbers, this is probably the quietest day of the year for travel.
Take pictures of the empty Terminal for us.

Agree Christmas Day is relatively soft on travel. Not sure if as quiet as fransknorge suggests but more-or-less quiet. I think Frank's 90 min suggestion is fine with AA platinum = prio check-in + security access..

Thanks both! 90 minutes is better than I expected and will give us plenty of time for breakfast in our hotel before taking the s-Bahn . Also looking forward to a nice quiet airport experience. That used to be the case on Christmas Day in the US, but the past few years it has seemed about ss
busy as the rest of the week.
