Luca App

Can we use the Luca App to gain access into restaurants, museums, etc. throughout Germany like the CovPass or Corona-Warn-App? We are visiting the Allianz Arena at the end of the month and were told Luca App does not work there.

I don't see why not. The Luca app handles the certificate of vaccination just like the other two: you scan the QR code from your vaccination certificate in, then you can show it at restaurants, museums, etc. I have my (German) certificates scanned into Luca and also into the French "TousAntiCovid" App because the German Corona Warn app doesn't run on my Smartphone. ( ) I often use the French App in Germany to show my certificate because it is easier to use than Luca...

I cannot speak for the Allianz Arena - is there a FlyerTalker from München here? - but I don't know why they should refuse to look at a valid certificate just because it is stored in Luca...

Luca's primary use is contact tracing. If you ask anyone that is the first use that comes to mind, just to put the response in perspective. How you show your proof of vaccination (app, paper QR code, vaccination book, certificate etc) is not regulated in Bavaria, so you can take a chill pill :)

Based on my limited experiences in Germany, I've never had anyone in Germany actually scan my QR code.

I have my health pass saved into the french TousAntiCovid app, and when institutions in Frankfurt ask for it, I just show them the QR code with my name/date of vaccination and they wave me by.

Luca is mostly used for contact tracing (I did not even knew you could store certificates in it) so the Allianz Arena meant that they will use another form of contact tracing (paper, a QR code to scan that opens a form in a browser, another app).
The vaccination certificates can be presented any way you want. And mlin32 is right, absolutely nobody is scanning them in Germany, which seems to bother no one weirdly enough.

Hi

I am checking in to various hilton restaurants and other places with the luca app.

I have shown my paper nhs scotland vaccination certificate at hotels and museums and nobody us recording it . I feel that they are just looking at the date of the second vaccination.

Absolutely no problem whatsoever.

Leaving tomorrow after 11 great days in Berlin and dresden.

Regards
Tbs

It is just a tracing app. Some locations use it, some not. Some use the Corona-Warn-App to trace you, some use there own websites, some still use paper forms. There is NO official rule or requirement that makes you to use the Luca App.

Allianz Arena enforces the 3G rule ( Genesen, Geimpft oder getestes meaning recovered, vaccinated or tested). Tracing is done via the mandatory online ticket. So not tracing app necessary at Allianz Arena. You must able to provide digital or physical vaccination proof, proof of recovered or a negative test result (Test must be either a rapid test not older than 24 hours or a PCR test not older than 48hours) See official statement here

Yeah, that’s been my experience as well. Perhaps the German version of the BioNtech vaccine includes a micro chip that implements QR scanning and validation in the vaccine recipient. ;)
