Location Of FRA in 1936
I thought this would be an easy question for Google but I am coming up empty so hopefully someone here can provide some historical information. I am trying to determine the location for FRA in 1936 and/or if the terminal was ever at the current FRA NH Hotel site. Looking at period pictures the NH looks similar to the old terminal but I am not sure if that was just the typical style back then.

The bombed FRA field as photographed in 1945: https://www.lagis-hessen.de/de/image.../bd/id/164-035 Nothing survived the bombing.
The 'airport' was always at the corner of what is now the A3 & A5, and later the US military set up a base at the same spot. Today that is the eastern corner of T2 and covered by the LSG facilities there. This site has some good detail: https://www.mil-airfields.de/germany...n-airbase.html |
Thanks!
