Oslo, FRA, from SFO

Planning on purchasing a case cash fare for 4 people to leave from SFO to FRA, and Oslo - might go ground to Belgium and UK. Thinking of August travel.

Is there a particular route I should take? Is there a particular site I should buy the tickets or keep an eye on? When is a good time to buy the tickets?

I posted in this forum since FRA is where we have a relative.

Thanks

What is a case fare? Check pricing on Google Flights, Kayak, etc. I would probably start to buy now.

Sometimes farbin advance is the best option, sometimes you get cheap tickets last minute.... I normally book in advance if possible

I'd keep an eye on the Flight Deals SFO website to see what pops up. The've had a lot of Europe fares in the $400 range the last couple weeks, including Rome just a few days ago on Lufthansa. I'd also set some fare alerts on Google Flights so you can track fare changes.

Booking OSL-SFO is usually a lot cheaper than booking FRA-SFO. IDK if this is also true when booking a return ticket originating in the US. But it's something I'd check out, provided you're willing to travel through Europe from north to south as opposed to starting in Germany and heading north.
