DL to LH or BA at FRA - separate tix

I will be arriving at FRA on DL. (Already ticketed) I will be connecting to either LH or BA on a separate ticket to LCY (so non-schengen). I will have carry-on bag only.

I read this wiki about transferring at FRA, but it is focused on LH/*A transfers. From the wiki, it looks like I will be able to connect without going through passport control, although the information in that thread isn't directly applicable to my situation. Can anybody with knowledge of FRA (including what terminals/piers are used by DL, LH (non-schengen) and BA (non-schengen) provide input before I purchase my FRA-LCY ticket. The BA option that I am favoring now gives me 2:55 for the connection.

Thanks!

First things first, you won’t have a connection, so you need to factor in all of those risks. Depending on what airline you choose, you’ll possibly have to change terminals, including going through immigration formalities and security. LH flights to the UK depart from B in T1 whereas BA goes from T2.

As you are on different ticket, this will not be a connection really. Anyway this does not change things too much. DL will arrive in T2. BA departs from T2 but it has security at the gates. So you will have to do the arrival formalities, then go to passport control, security at gate and boarding.
For LH, it departs from T1 but as you are not connecting as you have no through tickets, it means you will have to do the same with a transfer via Bus or Skytrain from T2 to T1.

So choosing BA would eliminate the Bus/Skytrain. That might shave a few minutes.

With either, I will have to go through passport control when I "enter" Germany and again 10 minutes later when I "leave" Germany? Is there a way for me to do this entirely airside as a connecting pax? (I realize that I am technically not "connecting", but that is in essence what I am doing.)

No you won't go thru passport control and since you are arriving from the US, a T2 transfer would also not require a security check.

Since security at T2 is at the gates, how can DL to BA not involve a security check ?

Immigration no, security yes, if staying in T2.

I I would recommend to connect to BA for the simple reason that you do not have to go from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, where LH departs.
