Phantasialand - Cologne or Bonn?

I'll be going to Phantasialand for a 3-day event.

I'd like to stay in a Marriott/Starwood or Hilton property. From where do I get the better public transport: Cologne or Bonn (frequency, commute time)?

Seems both not to be great. Canīt you stay at one of the Phantasialand hotels? Seems much more convenient. Otherwise I would tend to Bonn.

Best options are probably staying at one of the Phantasialand hotels or in Bruhl. Public transport from Bonn/Cologne will probably take an hour each way.

Just don't take light rail to Bruhl. Get a normal train from Bonn or Cologne main station to Bruhl (all trains other than ICE and IC trains should stop there). This is much faster than the local light rail, and the shuttle goes to the main line station as well as to the light rail station.
