Do Berlin Subway tickets expire?

I have some unused subway tickets from my last trip to Berlin about 8 months ago. Never been stamped in the machines. Are they still good or do they expire?

Still good!

No problem, I'll be using them soon. I got caught a few years back when I accidently purchased a childrens ticket and had to pay a hefty fine on the spot. On my last trip I purchased tickets 4 at a time and ended up with a few tickets leftover. Wanted to make sure I don't get caught with expired tickets.

IIRC after price changes old tickets are valid for one more year. If price doesn't change they won't expire.

I fear it actually isn't even as long as that. Price changes impact on 01.01.XXXX and I believe there is a two-month period when old tickets can be used and/or exchanged by paying the uplift for new tickets (which is usually only a few cents).
After that "Rule of Thumb" comes into play - use/stamp your old ticket and keep your thumb over the price bit if you have to show it to a conductor/inspector...

Don't they change the colours?

I don't believe so; I'm quite sure that the ATM printed tickets stayed the same after the last price increase. Just the printed price has changed.

I googled the situation after the last price increase in January 2017 - there you only had 14 days to use old tickets and a few weeks to get an upfare ticket.

So it seems your older tickets are only good as long as there has been no price increase.

Thanks, I just checked and the tickets I have are the same as the current price so I should be good.
