MUC connection time

I know connection times in MUC are discussed in detail, but I haven't found a definitive answer to my situation. Apologies if this is answered somewhere else.

I'm considering following open jaw ticket through united.com and am a little concerned about the connections in MUC for a US citizen. I'm assuming my Platinum status on United isn't much help in case I run into delays :D
Outbound:
IAD-MUC (United)
MUC-BRI (Air Dolomiti)
Return:
ATH-MUC (Aegean Air)
MUC-ORD (United)
Both connections in MUC are 1 hour 25 minutes. Can the fantastic folks at flyer talk advise me as to the likelihood of making these connections (assuming no delays on the first flight)? Also, can you give me a heads-up as to what to expect during these transfers? Passport control, customs, etc.?

This is plenty of time. Munich is very efficient and I would not worry. There will be passport control in MUC since you are entering/leaving the Schengen area, but there won't be customs control as this will happen only at your final destination.

With flights on time there will be no problem. You probably have only limited to no time to use the LH lounges but it is enough to change gates and get through passport control and maybe extra security. Regarding customs you will not go through customs in Munich. In the Europe-Schengen-Area customs is done at the final destination unlike in the US where you go through customs at the airport you enter the US first.

I have transited thru MUC several times and I can confirm that it is enough time for the transfer if flights are on-time. MUC has incredibly efficient staff.

This should be fine. Are you on one ticket or two?

One ticket, so it sounds like I'll have enough time (assuming no delays!).

Thanks everyone for your responses, much appreciated.

I'm perplexed as to why you think the connection times in your proposed itinerary are different from those you say are discussed elsewhere?
As others have noted, you're making a US>EU connection ...
There's a whole thread on connecting through MUC in the UA forum here https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...unich-muc.html
