Frankfurt / FRA layover - walking tour / tours

If you have a layover of eight or more hours, Frankfurt on Foot will have one of its tour guides meet you at FRA Airport and guide you on a tour. According to a recent Washington Post article that will include using public transport and following your interests, such as a tour of Höchst. Hochst wasn’t bombed during World War II; there are many half-timbered houses, Höchst Castle, farmers markets thrice weelkly, etc.

The organizers are Jodean and David Ator, originally from Ohio, fluent in English; all tours are in English, all tours are guided by native English speakers.

Cost is €125 for the airport transport and two private hour Höchst tour and €10 for each extra person. They offer many otherbtours and plans here. Others include

Public walking tour
14 € for Adults
12 € for Students / Seniors / Military
Duration of tour is 3-4 hours
Cash payment only, no reservations needed

Many others can be arranged.

For self-guided walking tours, you can download the “Frankfurt Maps and Tours” app (Android, iOS). The app works offline, so you can use it without a data plan.

You can also see 18 walking tours with information and a map at GPSMYCITY.COM here for Frankfurt. They offer a number of other world cities as well. The Höchst old town Walk can be read here.

Same goes for many other services/products. I think that those tours will find customers. Particularly among those wanting a hassle-free tour in English, it may be very interesting. For those frequently in Germany (and/or Austria and Switzerland) and good command of German, there are better options.
