NYE in Berlin
 

I'm going to be in Berlin with my wife and a couple friends on NYE this year. Do folks here have any suggestions on what would be the best place to go that isn't going to be a full-on club atmosphere but will be happening? And as a corollary...the Berlin city website mentions Brandenberg Gate has a lot of food stands and is free to get into, but is it a zoo on NYE / a pain to get in in the first place?

Brandenburg Gate on New Year's eve will be packed. Compare it to Times Square in Manhattan to get the feeling.
