Cheapest way from TXL to Hampton Inn?

Just trying to figure out the cheapest way to get from the Berlin Airport to the Hampton Inn. Google maps says to take bus X9 or 109, but trip advisor says to take some sort of Airport express bus. Does that sound right? Anyone know how to buy a ticket?

thank you!

Hotel info - http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hot...ons/index.html (says take 109)

Airport info - http://www.berlin.de/en/airports-and...el-txl.en.html (X9 apparently IS the express bus).

Yes, confirming that the X9 is the express.

Click on the second link that OverThereTooMuch has posted, then, on that page, click on the third link from the top (site plan Tegel airport).

On that map, find the yellow cube at the edge of Terminal A that says "BVG" (that is the name of the Berlin transit system).

The cube is the ticket window, you buy your ticket there. Once you have your ticket exit to the outside and find the stop for the X9 (same map, X9 stop is the purple rectangle).

When buying your ticket, you can buy a single journey for €2,70 or an all-day ticket for €7,00. The all-day ticket is good for all busses, U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains and for all trams (only the separate town of Potsdam is excluded).

thank you. this was so easy thanks to FT. i wonder if they have a week ticket. at any rate, made it to my hotel easily. i took the x9. it was a little longer walk than i think the 209 but overall very easy and quick.

Yes 7 day ticket is €30,00 (€37,20 if you want to include Potsdam)

I would not take the X9 bus (even though it is quicker). As it only stops at the Ernst-Reuter-Platz U-Bahn station and the Zoologischer Garten S+U-Bahn station. Both of which are a considerable walk from the Hampton. So you would have to connect to another bus. The 109 bus has a stop that is only a couple of blocks from the hotel (Uhlandstraße U-Bahn station along Küfurstendamm).

The Zoologischer Garten X9 bus terminus is 8 minutes' walk to the Hampton Inn via Joachimsthaler Str. and Kantstraße if you don't get lost as I did! Not that much further than from the Uhlandstraße U-Bahn station if you look at Google maps.

As additional information, there is a dedicated thread in the Hilton Forum about the Hampton Inn Berlin, which could be found here.

As this thread also contains additional information about the BVG network, I am not going to move the thread to this forum, but would like to for those, you suggested it.

Nevertheless as the question is now answered, I am going to close this thread
