Reclamation against Deutsche Bahn?

Hi all,

in February I booked a return trip ticket Hamburg-Dresden for me and my wife which is 5 months pregnant.
I also reserved two seats so I sure that my wife (and I) were seated without problems.

When the trains arrived at Hamburg Hbf it had three cars less because they made an error when it was built up in Hamburg Altona. Our car was missing so I talked to a DB representative and she told us to pick two other seats up but of course at the following stop the owner of the seats showed up.
We found a place for my wife only till Berlin Hbf then she was seated only on our luggage.
The DB representative told at the loudspeaker that passengers who reserved a seat had the right to seat against passengers who bought only the trip, but as the cars were less, the seats were not enough for all pax and also to move between cars was difficult as a lot of pax were just in the corridor with lots of luggage and so on.

Is there the possibility to ask a for reimburse?

Thanks
Marco

Yes, but you would only get the reservation back, which is 9 EUR, I believe. Not worth the hassle.

Ok, then it does not worth :)

Thanks :)

Not the best experience, but at least you arrived at your destination okay.

I concur, the effort required to refund your seat reservations’ fee is well in advance of the return.

Hopefully, your future travels with DB will be more pleasant.:p

Well, my wife said "Next time, first class" :)

The return trip was OK

I'm not sure if it's exactly the same, but I had a similar issue a few years ago. Reserved a private compartment on a sleeper. Turns out that car wasn't attached and the conductor found me a couchette to have all to myself. But, it didn't have the small bathroom and some other differences.

He suggested I take it up with the station agents upon arrival in Munich. Unfortunately, the train was rather delayed and I had to head directly to the airport to catch my flight.

I ended up filing a dispute with American Express and they were able tor resolve it for me. You might give your credit card company a try - no cost to do so and takes just a moment.
