Maundy Thursday shops open?

Is Maundy Thursday (Thursday before Easter) a holiday in Germany or are the shops open?
According to an old thread here, shops are open in Berlin.
Is this still the case? and is it the case in all of Germany?
I am thinking of Bremen.

This is not a holiday in Germany, so it's a normal shopping day and everything will be open for business as usual.
