duty-free at DUS

I'll be flying to LHR on BA ex-DUS. A friend of mine would like me to bring some non-alcoholic beer. Does anyone know whether that's available at the duty-free shops?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know, but 'duty-free' within the EU is not really a great deal, unless there are some specials going on. Most standard brands are usually cheaper in UK grocery or specialist shops. As for non-alcoholic beer, you can even get the German beers in many/most UK grocery shops.

Thanks! I realize prices are quite similar, but I thought it would be nice to bring his favourite drink as a gift...

Duty free in Germany is pretty much a Gebr. Heinemann monopoly. You could check here:

That will not help anyhow on Düsseldorf

You can buy some at the Rewe-market in the basement near arrival. Could only be a problem with carry-on lagguage

Thanks. Yeah, checking beer bottles and wrapping them individually seems like a nuisance and not worth the trouble.

If I could just buy 1-2 six-packs after security, that would be ideal, but if not, I won't bother.

I have not seen any beer bottles let alone non-alcoholic beer bottles in the duty free shops in DUS during one of my visits some days ago, but I looked only in terminal A (you can walk between terminals now) and only a bit in a hurry, so I might have missed it ...

No longer in DUS. Heinemann's contract hasn't been extended, and for about two years, duty free/travel value stores in DUS are ran by italian-owned WorldDutyFree company (Autogrill), the same as at LHR.

that stuff might be different though-i.e. Beck's sold in the UK is brewed in the UK.
(though I prefer Erdinger/oettinger, which is at least a bit better than the standard stuff.)

And in some places where they are sold, they are even more expensive than duty paid liquor in the city.

Yes. Duty free intra-EU is a figment of the imagination, as the price paid includes duty and VAT, and there's no limit on what can be imported at the other end for personal consumption. But, crucially, it's beyond the security check so it makes sense for products you could not otherwise find at the destination.
