Berlin: Hotel Concorde or Westin
I'm choosing between these two.
Both same price. Both offer free wifi Westin offers 4pm check out (I'm Starwood Preferred Guest Gold). Both locations good - which is better (I'm looking at standard king rooms). My priorities are late check-out, weight lifting gym, wifi and luxurious room (separate shower a bonus). Other similar priced rooms are Raddison Blu (free wifi) and Pullman Thanks |

Hotel De Rome is very good for hard product (suites are particularly nice) and has a similar location to the Westin. Service is a bit hit and miss. Some people like both the RC and the Hyatt- however the Pots. Platz location is not the best (unless you have meetings there in which case it is good). Soho House looks very interesting but I have not stayed there yet so cannot comment. The Regent is the former Four Seasons and has good service if a tired hard product. The Blu is a 4 star option- it is quite interesting in that it has a large aquarium in the lobby (very very large with an elevator in the middle of the aquarium)- but I wouldn't consider it as a luxury option. |
Wrong Forum, I think.

regent and ritz carlton arent much more, at about €200
(ritz carlton has amex plat 4th nt free through aug 31) unless negotiating with hotel, possibly via virtuoso agent, need amex plat for guaranteed 4pm checkout if OP has amex plat or is open to above, they could get more info in this forum, including re agents as TRAVELSIG points out, chain hotels are often overpriced and poor value, vs lux/boutique/independent just need more info from OP |

Concorde is not the Swissotel. They are both on the same street, on opposite sides.
I have not stayed in either one, as I live around the corner. But Concorde seems the much nicer hotel. |

Neither. That part of town is relatively boring compared to the former East. I LOVE the Radisson. Perfectly located and one of the best hotel lobbys in the world, courtesy of the fish tank. Breakfast is also amazing.
Hotel de Rome looks good, but it is a fortune. |

Just as a reminder: there is now a massive construction project in front of the Westin hotel on Unter Den Linden. For the new subway extension.

Just wanted to follow up on this. Does anybody have any experience with the Concorde? I found it for 150 EUR for a one night stay later this week. Worthwhile?
