Munich airport lounges

Dear all,

I got a pretty early flight into Munich and will probably have more than half a day there before I actually have to meet people downtown. Is there any chance to use one of the launches even though I will be arriving in Munich (no transfer etc.). I am looking for an environment to work that half a day without checking into a room in one of the hotels there.

Thanks a lot.

Lounges??

I don't think that MUC as any type of arrivals lounge (although I think some airlines/classes let you use hotel amenities).

You are likely out of luck. But there are public showers available and various places to relax, eat, and shop.

What is your travel class and your LH/*A status, also your routing might be relevant.

If you luck out on any of it, there are enough public restaurants in the terminal air- and land side to hang. Although I would recommend you to leave for downtown and perhaps crush in a Starbucks or one of the San Francisco coffee shops who all have wifi and might even be less crowded than any of the lounges in T2 :)

Thank you. Good advice, I think I will go with that ... This way I will actually get to see Munich a little before it is dark I guess. :)

With all respect, I think there are far more interesting and fun places to hang out in downtown Munich than American-style coffee shops!

I couldnt agree more, but if the focus is WORK you need power and wifi. And those places have that guaranteed. From the top of my head I cannot name a traditional Cafe or Restaurant offering that for sure.

Do you have a better suggestion, catandmouse?

Buy a surfstick at a drogerie, Tchibo, etc and sit somewhere a little more interesting is my suggestion! :)

It reads like you would actually prefer lunch to a launch? :D

But I prefer a launch over a lynch. Unless the latter comprises some elements of an airline's management.

If you need to work is there not Regus (or equivalent business) location you could use rather than a starbucks etc? Yes it will cost but you will have access to proper business facilties which seem to be what you need rather than a place to hang out.

As this thread is not specifically about M&M and associated airlines, I will move this thread to the Germany forum for more advice.

Kind regards,

Yes, MUC has a Regus business center, Regus gold is free to some, so that might be a nice option!
