Ratings for craps play

I've generally avoided playing craps for long stretches due to the large swings but for my last 2 trips to Vegas the past month I decided to increase my buy in and spend as much time at the craps table as I could. I played in 3 different TR casinos as well as Bellagio and Venetian ($10/$15 tables) and had several 4+ hour sessions. What really struck me was the variability in the ratings. PH consistently gave me a much better rating than Caesars or Flamingo. I played essentially the same way at each place. However, the payouts are a little lower at the TR casinos (field pays 2x on 12 vs 3x) hi/lo pay 30/1 instead of 31/1 etc. I only play those situationally (HHY on come outs and occasional field bets when only on 568). Maybe in a month I'll see how AC compares.

I'm just curious what other people think about ratings at craps - if they find ratings to be better at one casino vs another and if so is it worth the drop in payouts. I couldn't really tell much from my 2 sessions at bellagio but am curious how craps compares to blackjack ratings. I was disappointed that it requires a $50 min to get 3/2 bj.

If you're playing some bets (especially high house advantage bets) only occasionally, I'd guess that the rating will be heavily dependent on the pit boss and that's where most of your variation is coming from. I know you mentioned consistently higher ratings at certain casinos, but you'd really need much higher sample sizes to determine.

I can only objectively look at the tier credits I received from my play. I have no idea what impact it has on my offers. I still can't get free weekends at AC from CR.

Dec 18-Jan 19 I stayed 12 nights in Caesars/PH and played about 10 4 hour sessions of craps (a couple were longer). I played essentially the same strategy each time. My experience was that Flamingo and Caesars rated roughly the same. When Caesars had full tables and $25 mins one night in Dec I walked across the street to PH and played a 10/15 table and I found the TC I earned was about 3x higher than at the other casinos. In about 4 hours I think I earned nearly 1k TC rated (rated at around $80). I'm not really sure how to equate my rating into an expected loss.

When I played in Jan I stayed in PH and after 3 or 4 sessions I was about halfway to diamond (including the tier bonuses). I played a bit of VP but primarily stuck to craps. I generally don't play craps in AC (rules on buy bets) but I played at Borgata on derby day (4 hours 10/15 min rated around $80) and earned about 3k tier credits with MLife but that was a 1-time thing. The floorman told me I did good but they all tell me that even at Bellagio. Telling me I did good at Bellagio while I have to repay my marker is probably the most memorable thing about my craps experience there. Anyway just using those basic rates means it takes the same play at PH to get to CR diamond as the play at borgata will get me to mlife pearl.
