Team building activities

Not a loyalty question, but figured I'd start here with the experts and hope it doesn't get shut down or moved to Omni.

I have some emails in to local casinos, but curious if anyone here has experience with holding team building events at a casino. Sure, it just sounds like an opportunity to gamble, but I'm really curious about options to bring a large-ish group (between 150-250 people) to a casino and have them do something organized as teams. I don't want to just give everyone a bunch of chips and have them run off to do their own things.

It's unclear what you're trying to accomplish. If you're actually trying to make gambling at the casino part of the activities, what you will be allowed to do in terms of structure will likely be heavily restricted by gaming regulations..

I would rule out "typical" team building activities in general (scavenger hunts, escape the room, bike building, etc...) as they really don't apply to a casino environment. I'm looking for something that would be unique to gambling, but I'm curious to get more info on your comment below:

If the casinos in your area have meeting/event space, then you could still plan many non-casino activities as part of the greater program.

What information do you need / what is unclear to you? My point was that gambling regulations / laws in the state where you're planning on holding the activities may restrict what you can accomplish with group activities. For example, in Nevada, gambling can't be done in private areas - so a casino would not be allowed to, say, have your group play blackjack in a separate room or area that isn't open to members of the public who aren't part of your group.

What about renting a large conference space to host a tournament (bingo, poker, racing etc). The casino may provide the equipment and personnel. If it's for play money then presumably no legal issues. You can also run a casino night but you may need to run that by their legal team.

As long as you don't bet with chips that are used in the casino to represent money anything goes. Like they use for poker tournaments and such. Those chips have no cash value and you can basically do anything you want and most likely if you have that many people the casino will provide tables and dealers for a variety of casino style games. You can make up your own rules, whatever you want.

At the end of the night, whomever has the most chips or the chip with the x on the back or whatever wins prizes and such, that is all fine.

They don't have to follow gambling laws if they are not betting money - it is basically games for fun

You divide the teams out, compete against each other through the games at the casino, in the form of points, the final winners will be the team with the highest score.
