Update on status match attempt #2

I had a bit of free time and called Harrahs Joliet to see if they were doing the status match. It now shows up under Promotions when I log in, so it has to be open to the public by now. At first the operator said that it was limited to the local competition's status programs.. But after I pointed out that there weren't any CET properties in Michigan (I was matching off mLife platinum), she said I'd have to get matched at Windsor (ie leave the country!).. Then backtracked because that sounded ridiculous. Finally she checked with someone and said it was OK, all I needed to do was come in with ID and mLife card. They processed it there, no problem. Diamond status will not show up until 10 days later, they said.
It's only good until 1/2018 but there is a tier credit challenge of 5k to extend a year.
I wonder if the one day tier credit bonus applies to this offer. 2500 tc in one day is doable.

Are you talking about the one where you get 12000 TCs and they will give you the 3000 TC needed to hit Diamond? I did that yesterday (12003). Their offer says I'll get the extra 3K by the end of the year.

Edit: Reading back in the tread, guessing this is not what you were referring to. Sorry.

The status match promotion granted Diamond CET until Jan 31, 2018.
There was also a challenge to have that extended thru Jan 2019.
Depending on when you matched, you would have to earn a certain number of Tier Credits before the end of the year. For me, I matched in August, so I had to get 5000 TC between Sept and Dec. If you matched in July, it was 6750 TC Aug-Dec and less if you matched in Sept. etc.

All of this was detailed in the promo T&C...

How in depth do they check

If you had same name as your family member and they had platinum at mlife could you fool them and use it?

If you had the same first and last name... but I'm sure they also have a photo on your profile, likely scanned from the ID.

Use it for? Also, date of birth can often be an issue.

If anyone is looking for a cheaper way to reach DIAMOND just wanted to share my updated VIP code for FOUNDERSCARD. Will get you DIAMOND for $395 and is updated to your account within 2 weeks roughly by my experience for the last couple years. You get every perk that an earned DIAMOND member will get.

@:-) NO resort fees, $100 Dinner voucher, show tickets, Diamond lounge, 4 day Bahamas trip, and tons more....
Use my VIP Referral Code FCMICHAEL099 for an annual rate of $395 no initiation fee (vs. the standard rate of $595 + initiation fee), valid through April 30, 2018. Should have fees waived as well and lock you into the same renewal pricing for the next year when renewal is up...

:-:Not wanting to sound like spam, just wanted to share as this has been a money saver for me for the last 5 years. Great community here and appreciate you all!

Those that did the status match to diamond, does one get all the perks including the Atlantis hotel stay?

I would assume yes, although some don't view the Atlantis benefit as an actual perk (given the add'l costs of the trip).

Yeah, the more I looked into it, including with the resort fee, the more unappealing the offer looks.

People have reported that food is wildly overpriced there, which is on top of the VAT/fees/gratuity stuff.
CET offers different levels of room categories depending on what level you are .. so, if you are coming in at a free Diamond level w/o any tier credits, expect the worst "free" room.
