Still absolutely clueless as to why you insist on not using primary comps when you are not staying on-property. This is possibly up to 90% of your comps we're talking about, that are going into a bucket that you are for whatever reason refusing to use when you're not on-property. I would be much more concerned about why you are leaving so much of your comps on the table than that express comps are going away.
BTW, if you just want drinks at the bar in a nightclub, get your casino host to hook you up with drink tickets from a nightclub host he knows. Every host at every nightclub is going to have dozens of these every night. No reason ever to pay for drinks at a nightclub if you have any sort of connection to the host team. As for the drink tickets, thanks I will have to ask about that. However, I am not sure I can get anywhere near enough drink tickets to cover the express comps that I will not have. Does your host give you drink tickets to Hakkasan? If so I have more urgency as far as asking about it because why use the express comps when I can use drink tickets. |
Has anyone received the "Platinum Experience" letter at check in post December 15 changes? I stayed at Aria a few weeks ago (I'm Platinum) and didn't receive it.

Did you ask at check-in about the letter? |

Yes, I've gotten a room at Bellagio since the changes. The letter detailed Platinum benefits and mentioned I had complimentary access to BGFA.
Did you ask at check-in about the letter? Bellagio - Art Gallery Aria - ?? Vdara - ?? MGM - CSI Experience? Mirage - Secret Garden Mandalay Bay/Delano - Shark Reef Monte Carlo - ?? NYNY - Rollercoaster Luxor - Bodies or Titanic Excalibur - ?? Circus Circus - Adventure Dome? Do you have a photo or scan of your letter? |
MGM's corporate culture is pretty arrogant. They're doing you the biggest favor taking your money.
For those interested in Noir, it's roughly 2x the play than the minimum for the old 7*, and the "invite by committee" is basically someone in marketing reviewing your play to make sure you're not an advantage player, or have been trespassed at any MGM property (Core, Luxe, whatever), or you owe them money. So if they're not making money off of you, and you're playing low margin games (blackjack, some video poker), you can forget about Noir probably. In sum, Noir players are pretty valuable, so I'm surprised that they are restricting the free tour thingie. I don't play much in Vegas, but you might want to consider Cosmo or some of the CET properties. i will say this, it is much harder to make 7* as a tables player than a slot player, especially BJ because no matter how many players at the table you get RC credit for 60 deals per hour. |
0 for 4 Platinum Experience
Ive had 4 checkins over the last 3 weeks. 2 at Aria. 1 at Signature. And 1 at Mandalay. All 4 checkins made no mention of a Platinum Experience. Nor did any of them offer any sort of upgrade (even a view). So a reminder to everyone that tier status is not worth much (priority valet, taxi line). It's all about your ADT not tier status.

I'm 7* in CET. I hadn't played in MLIFE for over two years. I figured I would give MLIFE some of my gambling (slot) $.:p
Initially I got nice offers from MGM Grand [free play, lots of free food, limo pick-up, "mini" suite]. Now that I'm Platinum, the offers have decreased in value: MGM Grand normal room, less FP and food than before. |

As others have mentioned in this thread, offers are based on ADT and not tier status level. For example, many of my friends have mLife Platinum solely off spend and do not receive any offers. All that shows up are the tier status discount on rooms that are available to any Platinum.

Since I hadn't played in 2 years I progressed* to PLAT. in 4 months (on 4 different weekends)--based ONLY on slot play. Perhaps the initial offers were intended as enticements.

Just discovered this subforum...I visit LV once or twice a year (and gamble less than $500 per visit btw MGM properties, Venetian and Wynn).
My uncle is a whale (I think)...not sure what defines a whale. He spends half the year in Vegas and the other half here in the Bay Area. He has multiple properties in Vegas but usually is comped a room for about 2 wks before heading to his condo. He gambles ~6 hrs daily playing baccarat only betting ~$10k/hand (mostly at Bellagio and Wynn/Encore). During my last two visits to Vegas, he has hooked me up at Aria and Bellagio!!! Free meals, limo rides, show tickets, etc! The pit bosses inside the baccarat areas know me and offer me stuff. Love it! |

Based on your second paragraph, your observation re: your uncle holding whale-status seems quite accurate.
My point was/is that I don't know if MGM is cutting back benefits are not...if they are, I wouldn't know it. |
