Don't forget you can get mlife Pearl with their no annual fee credit card. Pearl gets you buffet line pass, and the credit card also gets you VIP check in. Earning mlife gold is obviously better since you also get free valet as well as a cafe line pass, but if you don't want to have to keep up your gold status, the credit card is not a bad deal.

Are you sure about that? I can't swear to it but I thought the sign at the bellagio buffet VIP line showed gold or higher.

The Hyatt credit card also will get you Pearl status (with the additional hyatt benefits). I'm confused about whether mlife spend on the credit card counts for tier credits.

On the mlife website it lists "Dedicated line at the buffet" as a benefit for the Pearl level in Las Vegas. I used Pearl to skip an hour long line at the Bellagio buffet around Thanksgiving 2016, but things may have changed since then.

Diamond lounge access will remain complimentary until 3/31/18 according to an email they just sent. I’d love to post a picture but forum won’t allow me because I don’t have enough posts.

I got the same e-mail. Although I'm wondering if I lose my diamond status in January I'm guessing February and April won't be free for me anymore.

If FC and CET don't renew the partnership, come Jan 31 2018 you revert to whatever level your tier score dictates. I'm platinum through the TR Visa and "VIP" card status in Vegas when I go pick up my card (assuming FC/CET don't renew the partnership).

Have you used the VIP status? Curious if it would be worth getting the card & spend if I decide to let my diamond lapse.

I only used the VIP card at the Valet last time I was in Vegas. Wasn't really needed otherwise, as platinum got us the head of line in most places. I use the TR Visa as a way to accumulate RC's throughout the year, since we are infrequent casino visitors. If you pay off the card every month, then it's an easy way to accumulate RC's to spend at the casino, usually on a couple of nice dinners and a show. We rotate our spending through the TR Visa and two other travel rewards cards. All are no annual fee and paid off every month.

You can't, the VIP pass comes with $10k spend on the credit card. From https://totalrewards.custhelp.com/ap...p-access-pass:

Total Rewards members, who are also Total Rewards Visa cardholders, have the ability to earn VIP Access in Las Vegas. Once a Total Rewards Visa cardholder has spent the required $10,000 (within the current calendar year), they qualify for the VIP Access Pass (not Diamond Status). It can take up to 90 days for the confirmation postcard to be mailed.

The VIP Access Pass allows members to enjoy some of the benefits that Diamond members enjoy, including VIP line access to restaurants, hotel check-in, taxi lines, entertainment venues, nightclubs and pools at all Las Vegas Total Rewards resorts. Once qualified, customers will receive a postcard in the mail which they will present at the Total Rewards Center at Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace or The Cromwell to receive their pass.

The VIP Access Pass will only be issued to the primary TR Visa cardholder. This pass will be good for 1 year from the date of issuance.

The VIP Access Pass is not connected to the Total Reward Account or the Diamond benefits, including the Diamond Lounge. Guests cannot earn or redeem Reward Credits by using the VIP Access Pass or use it for gaming.

I'm curious based on the wording if the VIP status includes Diamond check in? Some hotels have a Platinum check-in and some don't, but the Diamond check in can be helpful to bypass a long line if there isn't a Platinum check-in.

I haven't used it, but I was told by the TR people in Vegas when I picked up the card that it did allow Diamond check in.

Taken from the TR website:

TR Partners - Visa - VIP Access Pass
