Missing your Diamond status? If you apply and are approved for the Total Rewards Visa Card by February 10, 2017 and spend $5,000 in the first 90 days, you can get your Diamond status back through January 2018!

Not a bad deal but have to sign up by the 10th. Makes me wonder if we are only going to find out about Founders renewal after the 10th.

Edit: Note the offer is non-transferable and valid for the intended recipient only.

Would you mind posting all the terms of the email you received and the promotion code if it is not unique? Or PM me? Thanks!

I got this Email today!!

Here's why I spent 7 hours yelling at them. First its only one 800 number to total rewards and they have offices all over the country. The vegas office has the list of names and after I sent them my FC info they transferred me to the New Orleans office and thats where they did the upgrade. They gave me a song and dance, tried to blow me off, said they never heard of FC. I must have called 70 times until I finally got the card. I almost gave up but it was worth the aggravation.

I got that stupid email too. Its more BS and again you have to READ everything. First you have to be approved by the 10th of Feb. Will they pull your crank until the 11th? who knows. then you spend 5K by 5/10. Once you accomplish this feat you will wait 4 to 6 weeks for the card. So you are talking about the middle of June to be a diamond. No where does it say once you spend 5K you get the card that day. If you feel like spending 5K for half a year of being a diamond by all means go for it and what happens next year, spend another 5K for half year. You can do that but I'll be on the phone again for 7 hours until they discontinue this relationship. Do yourselves a favor, FC left us holding a bag and TR gave us a second prize. Call TR and scream. You will get BS and stone walled but eventually you will get it. It took me 7 hours and I have the card status today and will pick it up this weekend. What I don't like are these idiots who mock me for trying. Good Luck and see you in the diamond lounge.

Thanks do much for the info! It feels so much better when you do things yourself, doesn't it?

"You may only redeem this benefit once"

Assume if you already had diamond, it will renew automatically.

So we don't have to go back to the FC site and submit another request for this benefit? I signed up with FC last June. Do you think they'll update existing FC members' status automatically?

I think that's how it was this year. Auto.

For those of you who did not receive the offer... here is the direct link to the offer:

https://www.caesars.com/total-reward.../registertoday

*** THE TERMS SAY: Offer non-transferable, and valid for the intended recipient only.

So your mileage may vary but I don't see any negative effect of trying to sign up anyways.

I guess I could call TR and scream and yell for 7 hours on many different phone calls, or I could wait for them to finalize the deal and get the status without any aggravation on my part or frustration on the employees whom you so proudly screamed at.

In the end only you can decide if getting those chicken wings a week earlier than everyone else is worth 7 hours of your life.

hahahaha...nail on the head! I guess if you want it or need it that bad, you can stress out for 7 hrs doing it. Got to give him credit for his persistent.

I have a feeling that FC wont be part of TR next year around because of what's happening the past few weeks. If it is, diamond wont be as "valuable" as it use to be. You can see it happening already that TR is almost giving away diamond with the Visa CC.

Eh, to be fair though, if you're going to Vegas tomorrow (like I am) I can understand someone urgently wanting to get this done. The agreement is finalized, it's been extended, now the upgrades have to go through.

I'm not paying for this to not have access to the offers. I wasn't happy at the idea that they may get rid of diamond, but could accept it because there's never a guarantee that they would renew. Now that they have renewed, what I can't accept is not having access to something that I have been signed up for. In past years I've just been upgraded automatically, so it should be a seamless transition this year.

y2kcanucks Feb 2, 17 9:38 am

Called FoundersCard today and they weren't any help at all. My trip to Las Vegas is coming up tomorrow and I need to have my status upgraded back to Diamond for this trip. She said there wasn't any way to expedite urgent cases and that my upgrade would be done within a week.

Going to try Total Rewards directly now, even though she said that likely wouldn't help. Decided to do this after one of our members here had success yesterday.

Harry Lyme Feb 2, 17 10:06 am

Also be fair, FC can't force TR to push everyone through immediately. Deal's done, now TR has to make it happen. Can't get mad at the desk clerk at Caesars. Can't get mad at your FC contact. Not having it before my trip is not enough to get me aggravated, because as long as I booked before the 31st and was Diamond, I'll be fine.

But the people who signed up a month or so ago and never got it? Those upgrades should already be punched thru. I'm fine with waiting because the negotiations got stretched out, probably because of the TR Visa. I still expect it to happen soon because the "contact my host" tab on the app has already returned.

I understand where one will have an urgency, but is the stress and time spent really more valuable than a few perks? I guess everyone has their priorities, I personally couldn't justify it.

IF one is planning a trip so they can save resort fee and have free chicken wings, they need to reconsider their life priorities. I don't go Vegas because of the diamond status. its great if I have it, if I don't its not big of a deal.

Yes, you paid for a benefit and expect it to be there when you need it, but nothing is guarantee in life, this included. Seem like a few individual don't understand that concept.

This is only the 1st day of renewal, it takes time for transition to take place. I could be wrong, but unlike previous years when membership ended in March, which gave FC and TR to make a "seamless transition". This time around with diamond status ending the same day as TR/FC contract renewal, it caused some problem.

People need to stop stressing on things you cant control, focus things you can.

Actually when one pays for a benefit it should be guaranteed to be available. To suggest that someone would pay for a benefit and it not be available to them, thus rendering it useless, is completely laughable.

I don't go to Las Vegas because of the Diamond card, but it certainly is a very nice perk to have. Expedited line-ups, diamond lounge access, complimentary valet parking (otherwise $18/day), complimentary show passes, and the $100 dinner are huge perks. For someone who may not be returning to Las Vegas for the rest of the year it's very concerning that this wouldn't be available to me.

Again, I understand that negotiations took longer, and could have understood if they dropped it altogether. But now that they have renewed I expect the benefit to be available.

I absolutely understand your point of view, but what is "expected" is different from what might happen.....When someone buys a new house or car, they expect it to not leak or break down, but sometime things happen out of anyone's control. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that these benefit should be available if we paid for it, especially when they advertise it. Truth is, its not the end of the world if you don't get it.

Agree those are very nice perks, but will you lose sleep cause you didn't get those perks? I'm sure you have other important things to worry about on your trip. Don't let that mess up your trip.

I don't think you understand me when I'm saying it takes time. Everyone expect things to happen over night. its only the 2nd day since they renewed the contract between TR and FC. As I mentioned, you might "expect" it to be available, but it doesn't mean it will. We don't know what the process is, I highly doubt TR and FC are intentionally trying to screw people who has upcoming trips. Again, this is something you cant control, so no need to stress over it.
