change in RFB policy at CET = Harrahs in AC

I had been getting RFB for my stays at Caesars and Harrahs in AC. My slot host said things have change as of 1/1/13, RFB is no longer "automatically" included with comped rooms. Even with RFB, they would first use available rewards credits, and then RFB would kick in. People were using rewards credits to purchase merchandise, and so CET was "stuck" paying the full charges associated with FB.
My host noted that FB portion will not be given "up front", on check-out they will analyze* one's play and comp accordingly.
*the amount of play is not stated.:td:

I know in the last year (or two), they were putting more (daily) $ amount limits on the automatic LFB/RFB at CZR-AC properties. Last time I stayed at a CZR-AC property was in October for a tourney. My LFB operated as it always had, but I did "blow out" my $500+ in RCs before using my LFB with a tourney re-buy + a $400'ish comp sent to the steakhouse.

I have to say, I'm not totally surprised by this change.

nrr, how did your charges work out for this past January 2013 trip?

Personally, the CZR-Atlantic City properties have gotten so bad (hotel-side, rooms+service) that I exclusively stay now at Borgata, Revel or Golden Nugget.

It's been awhile since I've had RFB - but for the last few years, they've always raided my RCs first and then picked up the difference.

Yep, that's always the way it has been. So, if you were banking RCs, you would lose them. Of course, there were "numerous" ways around this. ;)

The only way I know around it is to burn them all before checkout ...

What do you burn them on that couldn't be comped off? I usually just bill everything to the room knowing that they will be used first and that the rest of the bill will likely be covered as well. My goal is no bill (other than losses, if any).

You can convert RC's to free slot play on a 2:1 basis.

Yes, but what if you have like $1000+ in RCs. And, aren't planning on a $2K F&B weekend. ;);)

This is a great use of RCs. While I'd prefer to see closer to 1:1, it's still better value than most F&B.

A few others come to mind, but, as with any open/public forum; it's probably best to not be (publicly) vocal about them. ;)

Another good use for me has been Shell Gasoline Gift cards (2:1), but since I have to buy gas, it's like CASH for me.:) Also, some Shell stations give you a 10 cents/gallon discount over the CASH price--these gift cards have NO expiration date.
I remember reading your reference to the bolded phrase a year or more ago--I'm still wondering what that perk is (I have some speculations...).:D
PS: The problem, even with comped, F&B, is the TIP--these cannot be offset with RC's; so a $200 meal (say), @20% tip, costs me $40.

My January trip (was the perk from 7*)--I used it in conjunction with my visit to the CES (Consumer Electronics Show). Everything worked out nicely.
I see a big problem ahead for the restaurants in the Casinos:
(1)Sea Blue at Borgata is out of business
(2)I ate at the Emperors Court restaurant at Caesars Palace, on Thursday, January 10 [midpoint of CES show], mediocre food, and there were less than 10 people in the restaurant at 7:00 pm--if they cater to so few people nightly, how do they stay in business?

In my experiences this past May and June, RFB was operating just as it had in the past. (i.e. charges automatically disappeared, after all RCs were gone)

It (seems) that is true, if your folio is coded RFB, which was generally "automatic" for 7* players, now your host has to get your account coded properly.
