Silverton in Vegas

A friend and I went to vegas for the Star Trek convention at the Rio and had a chance t ostay in a number of different hotels over 10 days (we are cheap).

I noticed howcasinos have changed over the past few decades since I first visited Resorts in Atlantic City when they were the only game in town. Long gone are days when you could not take photos or take electronic equipment into casions. Long gone are the days that children were not allowed on the casion floors. Why in the Bahamas, locals were not allowed to gamble (and that still may be true).

What we have now are family places in vegas with people in Star Trek uniforms and makeup wandering the casino floors and a woman with a remote controlled rock zooming through.

Now it just might be me with my paranoid thinking, but let's talk about the Silverton casion in vegas.

Imagine a casino, restaurant and hotel next to a busy highway. Imagine hundreds of thousands (or millions) of dollars on the floor and at play. Now imagine just a few steps away, attached to the casino, where you can buy bows, arrows, pistols and even an ATV to ride into the sunset after your escape (not that you could get far).

I see an Oceans 14 movie in the making!
