mlife (mgm) questions
When I log onto my "mlife" acct. my point total is listed at over 780,000, and I'm listed as Platinum. They do NOT explain at mlife.com how this total is arrived at, nor how your "comp" balance is computed.
I'm expecting the "official" mailing (I'm away from home now) and haven't read it. Has anyone who did receive it know if the system is described in more detail than what one reads on the internet?
From another thread in this forum there is supposed to be a higher tier than Platinum, but the web site does not list it--is Plat. the highest?

I have no idea how it is calculated either. I haven't picked up my Platinum card mailing yet but when I do I'll check if there's anything in there about how it's calculated.
The top level in mlife is "noir", so add MGM to the long list of companies attempting to capitalize on "black card" marketing. It is an invite-only tier reserved for the biggest losers in the system. Be glad you're not in that tier.
To be honest I'm done with the MGM family anyway. They're just losing too much money on City Center and are cutting anywhere and everywhere they can. I've played almost exclusively at Bellagio for 5 years and as I mentioned previously in other threads, my comps at Bellagio have been terrible since last March or so - this despite having my highest ADT ever - and a host admitted to me last summer that they had been instructed by execs to slash comps.

Ya..I could care less about the new comps system, but I would like to know if I can just pull up at the bellagio while'st staying elsewhere and stroll to the front of the line..

Sometimes just for signing up for a "players" card, can get you offers in the mail, but generally gambling is what casinos reward.

Earn Tier Credits for playing slots and table games. Receive 10 Tier Credits for every $2 of coin-in on reel and video slot machines or $10 of coin-in on video poker and specialty games. Your Tier Credits for playing table games accumulate according to length of play, average bet, and game type. For example, get rated at $25 per hand in blackjack for one hour and you will receive 550 Tier Credits.

id assume there is a set figure for noir though
why all these things have to have such inflated numbers ill never understand

I have now received my MLIFE packet--which doesn't say all that much about the full system--however, in a sub-sub-(sub
) menu on MLIFE.COM, there is a grid showing advantages of the various tiers. Except for one or two items, platinum and gold yield pretty much the same perks--one plus of these is special lines at buffets etc.
Nowhere is the status NOIR mentioned (at least Harrahs acknowledges the existence of SEVEN STARS in printed brochures and elsewhere).
I'll be in LAS this coming weekend and try to get more info from the (Players Club)=MLIFE desk.

I can attest that well over 1.6 million tier credits will not qualify players for the silly black card. 
There is not. Again, according to MGM's own training program, that level is invite-only based purely on actual losses, not ADT.
MGM has no intention of making any official discloures about the black card level or how to qualify. They want that mystique around it as part of their marketing scheme.
However, it should not be difficult for you to glean some information this weekend about noir and the other aspects of mlife. All hosts, pit bosses, floor managers, as well as a lot of related service staff have all done MGM's mlife training sessions.

gengar, thanks for clarifying. heard anything about room/total spend earn rates? i might be interested in gold, depending. (grazie gold at $6K seems reasonable.)

(and, I'm not sure why you think it's reasonable for $6K, since it has NO value ) Well, unless you value a card that says GRAZIE GOLD.

I'm pretty sure it's only $1.5k of spend IF you're already a gold. Otherwise it looks like it's $6k of things billed to your suite. Not sure if the suite itself counts.
BK - If you have some other secret way of qualifying for Gold @ 1.5k, please share!

I don't have the math skills/patience to compare the return rates at the various comp programs to see where Grazie currently fits. IIRC, they had a pretty good conversion rate from points back into cash or free play.
