I have "gold" status with a few Comps on my card and I wanted to stay a couple of nights @ ARIA on my next trip

Prices are pretty high over my weekend . is it worth e mailing / speaking to a host about prices or should I forget about it and just book via the Internet?

I am able to use Comps on price of hotel, correct?

Did you check mlife for offers? I'm a little higher status but seeing slashed rates through March/April.

It can't hurt to talk to your host. Ask for a comp, if not, ask for a casino rate.

It is best to call in and ask because your online offers are not necessarily the best offers you have available. Yes you can use express comps to pay for part or all of the room charge, but if your room is not comped up front you should have a host evaluate your play to try to get them to cover some or all of the cost as well (prior to hitting your express comps).

I have almost $2000 in mlife comp dollars.

What would you suggest I spend them on? Will they expire?

I usually come in on an offer for a suite, decent Free Play and $800 in resort credit and use that for the restaurants and spa.

Former Noir but downgraded to Platinum if that is relevant.

Thanks.

Thanks for the tips!

I rang uo and for the night in Question the online rate was quite high (169$)

They offered me the room at 129$ with 75$ freeplay which I thought was fine ^

They confirmed that anyway I can use my Comps to pay final bill so stay will be "free" anyway

Can't get website (mlife) to work properly but they confirmed that they are having some troubles

Has anyone booked/taken their free cruise yet? I'm booked on my platinum cruise next month, but when I booked I forgot to get details on the drink chits, welcome amenity, and specialty dinner.

Mainly looking to see if anyone had experience on how these were delivered. Are they just automagically on your onboard account or do you have to collect them from the casino host or what.

I booked and was told that the specialty dinner was through the casino host (although due to the dress code I won't be going). Not sure about the drink chits or welcome amenity but assume the former is also through the casino host. I assume any welcome amenity would be in the room but who knows - I wonder how much pressure there will be to play as I was planning on just relaxing.

5K Max Express comps

I was Noir last year and had just over 5K in Express Comps. I used some in December and around the same time I was downgraded to Platinum. My current Express Comps balance is about $4500. I see under the FAQ section of mlife.com it now states that the maximum Express Comps one can earn (up to Platinum) is 5K. It's 10K for Noir.

I have an upcoming trip where I am most likely to pass the 5K mark with my play. Does anyone have any experience with being capped at 5K in Express Comps? I generally have my room comped upfront and use any promotional F/B credit to satisfy my bill, hence I haven't really had to dig into my Express Comps balance.

I suppose I may be "forced" to use my balance.

Hard cap limitation? Another for the absurdity that is mlife/Express Comps.

I would suggest asking your host. A couple other FTers have posted about accumulating a lot of Express Comps for the same reason you specify, but I don't think they're near the cap.

I just booked a free weekend offer on the phone - is it normal to not get any kind of email confirmation or anything? The rep gave me a conf # over the phone, but that was it.

I thought I used to be able to view upcoming MGM reservations on the MLife site so was just going to check there to verify everything, but when I logged in couldn't find the link...

Anytime I've booked with my host, I've never seen the reservation on MLife. I also do not get a booking confirmation other than an email from my host.

I am another former Noir who was downgraded to Platnium in the recent program change. We also had over 6k express comps taken away to get us to the 5k max.

Ouch. In any event I agree - I haven't received e-mail confirmations on host bookings. The last non-host comped booking I made was in 2011 and I did receive a confirmation e-mail on that one (not sure how long it took to get the e-mail).

Gooselee, would you mind updating what happened on your cruise and if there's advice you have? I think it should be/have been in April.

Thanks. Sounds like all is well. I have to call back to get she tickets anyway so I guess I'll overcome my paranoia then.

Our cruise is coming up in May . I'll update when we get back, but I did call in to Club Royale to ask about the drinks and welcome amenity. They said that everything is usually left with a welcome letter in the cabin prior to arrival, but if not then to just stop by the casino host after we hit open water and they'd set us up. Very friendly CSR and shorter hold time this call.

Can't comment on the expedited check in stuff as I already get that with my RCCL C&A level.

What's expedited check-in? I haven't really done anything on the website...do you mean something like a separate line for invited guests? I may go before you as I am going the first full week of May. So I guess I will report back.
