Here is the video of the person walking and getting hit. It looks like they had a shuffling gait or limp, but to jump the fence it seems they would need to be quite athletic https://youtu.be/ygTFgzn5JAI?si=moESkeM_WPb3COWl

Maybe he got hurt after climbing over the fence.

I read this on Reddit – amazing story especially for what the agent told her

I was going to say the same thing.

People who bring their bags with them during an evacuation need to be charged criminally.

One of the passengers on this flight was told by an agent at frontier it was her fault she didn’t take her bags with her when she asked for supplies for her baby.

Having worked in selling systems that can detect a human vs. animal, this incident will change airport regulations and response time. If my understanding is correct, it took him two minutes to jump the fence and make it to an active runway. No idea what his intentions were, but unless you want to automate things, two minutes isn’t enough time for security to respond.

Yes, and this incident might be giving terrorist organizations some ideas.

This "two minute" timeframe has been cited repeatedly since the incident took place, but I have seen no attribution as to the source of this knowledge. How do they know? Is there footage of the individual actually scaling the fence? Does the perimeter fence have sensors to tell when and where it's been breached?

It’s been a minute, but my memory is both thermal and underground sensors are installed. Problem is response time. Plenty of cameras, but those are worthless in the moment, no human can pay attention to thousands of cameras actively.

Apparently the airport has video of the person climbing the fence but didn’t share it. This Video is a little bit longer and appears to show them “fixing their hat” or something. It also appear that the person turns toward the jetliner just before impact : https://www.foxnews.com/video/6395221479112

If they didn't already have the idea... my first thought was either someone trying to pull off some kind of attack or a terrorist organization testing the waters. If the latter is the case, I would say it would actually discourage them rather than promote the idea.

Do those that remove their bags ever face any repercussions? They clearly impeded an important evacuation and some even with carryons stopped to photograph the engine?!

As this thread proves, that could end up being a bit painful.

It wasn’t immediately clear why the Pueblo-native was walking free after he was nabbed on April 10 for first-degree trespassing and damaging property at a Colorado Springs dwelling, then resisting arrest when cops arrived.

Mott – who was homeless at the time – was initially booked into the El Paso County Jail after that incident, the Colorado Springs Police Department told The Post.
I had a hunch the guy was a bum.

smith80678 May 13, 2026 7:43 am

The coroner said suicide and it seems obvious to a person, but the guy was just busted for trespassing a month ago and the way he was walking didn’t look like suicidal intentions. He didn’t stop on the runway or look at the plane. I think it was just trespassing.
