Frontier testing / implementing new boarding procedures?

I've seen on X (Twitter) charts showing a new Frontier boarding procedure. They're adding several categories, presumably to eliminate the chaos of so many people now being in "group 1." This seems overdue. That said, the ability of Frontier gate agents, and Frontier customers, to follow a more complicated boarding procedure seems questionable to me.

Groups 2 and 5 are weird to me. Why have special groups for Miles members who aren't elite?

We'll see how long gate agents wait for group 1 before announcing 2. My guess is about 10 seconds.

I can ascertain that the Las Vegas gate agent at my gate this morning has not gotten this new boarding memo. It was the same old cluster---- with 70 percent of the passengers being in Zone 1. To make matters worse, the agent never called for Elites after the initial announcement for military, handicapped, and family pre-boarders.
I am not a fan of gate lice any more than anybody else, but the way Frontier is so haphazard about calling for Elites, and giving them, like, 5 seconds to approach the gate makes it mandatory to be gate lice at their gates.

My home airport (CLE) has a small opening in the "roped" line for zone 1 boarding that I slip through when they call for Elites. At the Las Vegas airport, there's no "opening", so I am left with no other choice but to be gate lice. I feel like a jerk, honestly, but I want to get the full benefit of my status.
I agree with the sentiment upthread about the likelihood --NOT-- of Frontier gate agents and customers going along easily with this new boarding directive. I'll believe it when I see it...

I just flew over the weekend... at both MCO and CLT, they called for pre-boarding, Zone 0 (?), military and Diamond Elite first (all as one group), then followed by Zone 1. There was no separation for Gold, Platinum, etc. elite, we were just grouped in with the Zone 1 people. BUT, the Zone 1 line was a bit shorter because some had already boarded.

Of course, at MCO there was a small contingency of people who weren't in any of those zones who tried to board with the very first group anyway and slowed it down for everyone, but that's probably a universal problem that can't be fixed.

Bravo to Frontier for finally recognizing elite flyers.
