Purchase 20K status
Well, we asked for it and her it sorta is:
https://viewfromthewing.com/anyone-w...-elite-status/ Link to Frontier: https://frontier.getstatus.com/ Basically, $499 for 20K to the end of the year. Would work great with the all you can fly pass. |
The other option is to pay $80 and then fly 5000 miles with them or spend $5000 on the Frontier credit card. You get instant 20k status until 31Sept. If you complete the miles/ money by then, then you get to retain status to the end of the year.
So, that would be $80 plus about 2 long roundtrips. The flying would probably only cost you $200. But the credit card thing is probably easier for some. |
Desperate for customers?
I always wonder how many, or what percentage of loyalty customers , are Elite at some level. I am 50K for several years and I always can book my favorite seat , and while waiting to board I rarely get the impression that the people boarding first along with me are regulars. Anyone have insight regarding this?
|
So I paid the $80 and am seeing the status attached to my Profile now but its not letting pick seats and add a carry-on without paying on existing flights. Would this only be free on new flights?
|
What status did you receive? If it is 20K, you pick the upgrade seat 24 hours prior to flight time.
|
I paid the $80 (through 9/30) Elite 20K status.. only trying to pick non-Stretch seating today..
|
I had to use the dreaded chat with an agent to get the status added to my current bookings. Someone on a Facebook group said to say you want your Frontier miles number removed and added back, and that did the trick, and I was able to select my seat and carry-on for free!
|
Chatting now and they are adding everything for free.. Lucky as they seem slow (not helping 20 people at a time) right now

So, to me, it seems that Frontier has very few elite members, as compared to other airlines. |
Hi -
So a question for the collective wisdom here. I have the go wild pass. I just paid the $80 for the 20K challenge. I saw that Elite 20K comes with "last seat availability". I know that the go wild pass does not. Will 20K trump that? Will it "unlock" last seat availability for my go wild pass? Or would that only apply for award bookings? Thanks in advance. |

Last seat availability only applies when redeeming miles. It shouldn't have any impact on booking using your GoWild pass.

Hi -
jjbiv, many thanks. As a data point, my account was upgraded to 20K within 24 hours of paying the $80. Now I just have to get my FFN removed an re-added so i can get my carryon and seat assignment fees waived. at the airport. One other question: they are now adding a fee to talk to an agent. Is that waived for 20K? I did not see it on the list of waived fees. And if not, is there now a fee to SDC, since I have to talk to an agent to do that? Thanks. |

Their chat customer service is able to add those for you. The agent assistance fee is dependent on the agent. It is only guaranteed to be waived if you selected agent assistance at checkout on your ticket. |
Hopefully this is successful and they add thr ability to get 100k status through buying it.

I did the $80 status option and it updated to my account the next day. It's only good through September, but do I understand correctly that it will extend past that if we fly X miles between now and then?

Here's something weird... I paid the $80 to get 20k elite through the end of September. My challenge was to fly 5,000 miles or spend $5,000 on the Frontier World Mastercard to get status through the end of the year (if I remember correctly)...
Well, my laptop battery ran out and after I rebooted my computer and restored my browser windows that were open, the challenge had changed to 10,000 miles and $10,000 spend by Dec 31, 2023 to earn 20k status through Dec 31, 2024. |
Maybe a gift from Frontier's notoriously bad IT?
Spending more to extend status through next year is now an option, though it's supposed to cost more. From the offer terms: Update from May 31, 2023: Standard pricing of $299 for the Elite 20K challenge ($199 for the first 1,000 members to purchase under this rate) will receive elite status valid until December 31, 2023. Upon earning 10,000 elite qualifying miles, the member will qualify for extended status until December 31, 2024. Members who purchased the challenge offer under the original offer of $80 with a 5,000 elite qualifying miles requirement may be eligible to upgrade to the new challenge requirements for an additional fee. |
Hi -
How does one upgrade to the new challenge requirements for an additional fee? |
Just got an email about purchasing the 20k status and it has changed to extend to 31Dec24. A better deal.
|
I purchased the $80 option and am flying the 5000 miles to extend the status until the end of 2023. Pretzlaff mentioned that there may be an opportunity to upgrade to get status until the end of 2024. Do any of our informed members know the terms for getting that upgrade and the best way to go about it. Thanks.

Revisiting this... I think I've been operating under a misunderstanding, which might be a problem. I bought the original $80 option, flew my 5k miles before Sept. 30, and got extended to Dec. 31, 2023. I've been doing mileage runs (and just booked another) to get to 10k before the end of December so I can keep status through Dec. 31, 2024... but now I'm reading that there was some additional fee or enrollment necessary for that? Is that right?
I should hit 10k after a mileage run to ATL on Nov. 11; if it doesn't update then, I plan to purchase the Elite 50k option through the Status Match offer.... but I sure would like to know in advance so I don't have to waste a day flying to ATL and back. LOL |

LOL Frontier Get Status sent out an email in August offering an extension of Elite 20K status through the end of December 2024 by flying 10k miles before December 31, 2023. I had to pay an additonal $69 to get the offer. The 10K miles included the miles I flew for the first offer. I don't know if the offer is still available. If it is, it's probably cheaper than paying for a match. |
