How to book a hotel using Frontier miles
 

The flight attendants state that you can book hotels with Frontier Miles every time they give that credit card sales pitch. So I am looking to see if I can use my miles to book a hotel outside Washington D.C. , but see no option to spend miles rather than money, when browsing on the FlyFrontier website. Is it possable?

It used to be possible but not anymore. The flight attendants are generally not informed about the elite program. I've heard blatantly wrong things said to entice people to apply for their credit card.

That is incredible that the flight attendants are doing that. I didn't join the airline loyalty program to book hotels but I heard them say that a member could every time they give that credit card announcement and I have plenty of miles in the bank so I thought I would use some. It seemed plausable since the website has a hotel dropdown menu. Unbelievable.

Ive gotta say that I love that they don't do that credit card pitch on red-eyes, at least as of Dec.when I last flew one.

Nowadays, I just turn up the volume on whatever I'm playing and push my earbuds into my ear so I don't hear the sales pitch.

It is garbage that they give bad info in the announcement.

I was flying to MCO from Vegas this week and the FA started her credit card pitch by saying " How many of you had to pay for your carry-on at the gate"? Now I don't know what sort of" pay for the bag show" took place for my flight because I was the first to board, but at the gate next to mine going to St Louis, there was a hot exchange that took place involving a passenger who must have been one of those professional fight club guys. He was pulling his gloves out and trying to wear them to reduce the bag volume, and he was refused entry. This guy looked like he could do some damage. So here we are on my flight and this FA is stirring up the pot reminding passengers that they got charged that carry-on fee. Tone deaf as they come, in my opinion , because someone who feels they were cheated is not going to be conducive to paying more to support the airline. She stated that having the credit card will save the passenger the carry-on fee, which we know is not true since you have to reach an Elite status to receive that perk and the credit card is a means to that end. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't United give travelers a free bag if they use the United credit card to buy the ticket.? I know my Delta card has that perk, up to 9 suitcases. But I do not think the Frontier card does. Am I wrong on that?

I've considered the credit card in the past to earn extra elite qualifying miles, but the $89 fee just doesn't seem worth it given the limited number of benefits. Okay, so you get a $100 flight voucher if you spend $2,500 or more in the year... but that's way way more than I spend on Frontier flights in a year and I would be missing out on more valuable points on my other cards. If the threshold was $1k maybe I would do it.

And I have way more redeemable miles than I know what to do with. If they could be used for checked bags, THEN okay, let's talk.

Yes, I have almost 300000 miles in the bank also and I need to start spending some. That voucher the credit card gives is a problem also, for the voucher is only applied to the airfare portion of the ticket price, which is sometimes only pennies. My typical roundtrip ticket price between MCO and New Jersey is 80 to 120 dollars. I recently bought a ticket for $110, applied a $50 voucher for it, and was only given $35 credit towards the ticket price, the balance is lost. I don't even want to see the vouchers anymore because they just aggravate me.
