Frontier Gowild - Mileage run for elite?
I got the frontier gowild pass. I'm based in SF. I plan on using the pass to just take weekend trips around the country and explore (I'm new to US).
Elite perks apply for bookings but no accumulation (ie: if elite can get perks but flights don't count towards elite). The bags perk seems nice to have, since personal item is kinda small. However, I think I could survive with just a backpack without ever paying bag fees. So I guess the bag perk is "nice to have" in that I'd use it if I had it, but wouldn't pay money for bags if I didn't. I never fly frontier and don't really have any travel plans. 1) Is it worth mileage running to 20k? 2) If so, what's the best way to mileage run? It looks like SF-east coast is about 2k miles each way, so would need 5 round trips. Cheapest I can find is maybe $150/RT so would cost me $750. |
Personally I would never fly frontier without at least 20k elite benefits. The seat selection is worth it, especially for longer flights.

I believe SF to Orlando is about 2500 miles so would be only 4 trips for you. The pass doesn’t start until May 2023 so you have until then to hit 20k. Just keep any eye out for promotions. Some cross country flights can he bought for as low as $50 round trip and sometimes Frontier does multiplier 2-5 X qualifying elite miles. If you are able to jump on those deals, definitely worth going to 20k status for the seating and carry on benefits.

I'm doing it via the credit card. I can do 20k in 4 months.
