Online "sale" glitch
 

Frontier is promoting a "Winter Thaw-out Fare Sale" on their website. The impression one gets from the sale's name is getting away from a chilly climate to a warmer one. Unfortunately, the originating cities that appear from the drop-down list are the warm destinations, such as RSW, PHX, etc., which means you would be departing the warmer temps for the cold. :confused:

When you click to check dates, you are taken to a page that also has the customer departing the warmer city for the cold. It is at that point, that you can manually change the departure and destination cities.

I presume that someone from Frontier will read this post and get the corrections made, seeing as how someone not used to the site would be lead to believe that the "sale" fares are only available in the "wrong" direction. Or, maybe they should just change the name to the "Winter Chill-out Fare Sale." :)

On the topic of "glitch" and Frontier fare sales, the post Thanksgiving sale allowed you to price fares like Milwaukee-Appleton, and the calendar which shows you what fares are available on actual days showed real fares on various days in December and January.

It's one thing to still show routes like MKE-MSN and MKE-SDF because at least in theory one could go via Denver. But they don't even fly to ATW, so I'm curious how they could put prices on the fare calendar. If you tried to "book through", then they would not actually price it.

As a matter of fact, I can still get it to show me Appleton today.

When I go to the Online Deals section, below the (rotating) sale fare ads, there's a banner which says Today's Prices: Milwaukee to Ironwood $59.

If I click "See Dates" it brings me to the fare calendar, which generally I really like. However here I can change the Flying To box to other cities which include Appleton. And sure enough it displays MKE-ATW fares. As low as $126 most days in December.

That's not a bad fare, but think of the flight delay. :D
