'Traveling light'???

So, I took my 2nd F9 flight, out of DEN, on Thurs.

The boarding process was...interesting.

Does F9 really give priority to those 'traveling light', aka nothing to put in the overhead bin (GA's words, btw), or was this something the GA just made up? Better yet, how is that enforced? I wasn't at all surprised to find at least one pax who boarded during this 'traveling light' group w/her bright purple flowered bag in the overhead bin when I finally got on-board.

Just curious!

Yes, that is standard procedure.

They might be right. The theory is that it speeds the boarding process because the people not using the overhead been can sit down and keep the aisles clear for when those people with their 70 lb roller bags start jockeying for space.

Frequent Flyer Elites can board at anytime, so they are not restricted by the "traveling light" group. Most likely, that is what you witnessed.
