Please do let us know if you hear anything. Frontier is relatively slow in matters like this, so several days is likely not enough time to have heard back. Hopefully they reply in the affirmative.

I've heard mixed things. I think that at best you'll get Aspire status (the lower tier of the two tiers) as a match, but I also heard that they may offer you something like fly X segments in the next Y months to get status.

Much as we might want to aspire to something else, the two status levels at Frontier are Ascent and Summit. :D :D :D

Just as a data point, I submitted my AA EXP status info to Frontier in January. I received a response within 72 hours stating that I would be upgraded to Summit for 60 days. Within those 60 days, I would need to fly 4 one-way trips for Ascent status or 6 one-way trips for Summit Status.

Update:
Well, after 14+ days I received a response...and was denied! The email I received is below. I'm not sure what sense it makes for them to deny me, given I haven't had ascent status in at least 5 years, and promised to devote 35k-45k miles/year to them. Oh well, now we know. If you've ever held elite status with F9, even if it seems like forever ago, it's probably not worth your time to try for a match. Bolding mine: "Thank you for your note regarding elite status in the Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns® program. We would very much like the opportunity to be your airline of choice for your future travel needs and have carefully considered your request for elite status in our EarlyReturns program. Unfortunately, we are unable to grant your request at this time since you have been a member since 2005 and an elite member before. Our status match is designed for new members and not as a fasttrack program for current members. Please visit frontierairlines.com/earlyreturns for status qualifications and benefits. We certainly hope that our route map and flight schedule, along with exceptional customer service, will encourage you to consistently choose Frontier Airlines. We hope to serve you soon and often. Sincerely,"

Just FYI,
Based on the comments above, I submitted my request via email, including my United credentials, to the address above ([email protected]). I did this several days ago and never received any response at all. Maybe too early to jump to conclusions, but they may have eliminated this program. If I ever hear back, I will update this post. |
Rats...although I think their response is pretty standard in the industry. Most airlines status match to get new customers who have either no FF account or very nominal activity.
Sorry to hear of the negative outcome.... |
Hello everyone. We are rolling out changes to our Status Match program that I would like to clarify. Requests for a Status Match should be emailed to [email protected] with supporting documentation to show your elite level on the other airline and your most recent activity statement.
The specifics of our matching program are as follows:
We will match status according to the following levels in place at other airlines:
Finally, the program requirements for receiving a match are as follows:
If you meet these requirements, please send your to [email protected]. Thank You, Dan Krause Vice President, Marketing & Customer Experience Frontier Airlines |
Thanks for posting this! It's good to know there's a set of guidelines in place (versus what could seemingly be on the whim of whomever gets the request). And it's great to have that information available here in black and white.

Cohall, please email again to [email protected]. Under our revised rules, tier status will be matched once every five years per member. There are no membership restrictions on the status match program, meaning it is open once every 5 years to new & existing members, even if you previously had elite status.
Thanks, Dan Krause Vice President, Marketing & Customer Experience Frontier Airlines |

I hope this offer still stands, I just sent an email. I am UA 1K and almost have a million miles but I am so unhappy with their service since the system merge I am switching. DEN is my base.
Although you'll miss those first class seats, global route network, and international frequent flyer partnerships, the onboard experience is certainly much more enjoyable. |
Just open a new account, and then request a match.

Did you ever get a response? I submitted a request (along with my Skymiles statement, and info indicated on F9-Direct's post) last week, never heard anything-Sent a PM to F9-Direct here, on Monday-No response yet...I went ahead and booked one flight coming up, but am going to hold off on any more, until I see if this status match program is still valid...One of the reasons I thought about switching to Frontier, was this ability to match... |
Any word on the turnaround time here? Sent my request in yesterday to both emails, and am hoping to be on my challenge before traveling to California next week.
Do flights you booked before the challenge count towards it, or is it only bookings made after the challenge has begun? |
