New To Ascent
I finally made it to the Ascent level and I noticed on the membership benefits chart that Ascent members get complimentary access to Stretch and 2 free bags. So can I get those on my MKE-LGA trip next week and how will they know I'm Ascent at check-in?

I'm also new to Ascent status and also had a question. Are we suppose to get a frequent flier card? I e-mailed them and they responded that I can print it off, but that still doesn't show the dedicated phone number. |
Yes, you will be able to get stretch seating at the gate area, just stop up and ask. When you check in, it will notice that you are Ascent and will allow you to check bags for free. You'll also get free TV, which is nice.
I reached Ascent in November and Summit in December. In January, I received a plastic "Ascent" card and bag tag in the mail. Haven't yet received a "Summit" card and/or bag tag. |
Your boarding pass will print "Ascent" following your name. You will be identified as an Ascent member on the passenger list so checkin, gate agents, and flights attendants will know.

I go talk to the agent when I arrive at the gate, in Denver they usually already have an upgraded to stretch boarding pass waiting for me. When I check in @DTW, the gate agent typically gives me some attitude, than questions the size of my rollerbag, and than upgrades me to stretch.

Never been upgraded before approaching the GA. Last 2 flights was told Stretch wasn't available. Flights before that had lots of attitude. One had an MX and they gave seat assignments to deadheaders and nonrevs before Ascent and Summit. Much fun.

I too just reached Ascent and was at LGA early yesterday (made it out before the storm led to a lot of cancellations). I simply asked the GA to be put on the list for an upgrade to Stretch and he upgraded me on the spot. That was helpful since the flight ended up being full. They also made the order of boarding very clear, Summit and Ascent first. Well, except for a couple people who needed physical help getting aboard.

Got to MKE early for the 8:05 a.m. to LGA yesterday. Checked the website before I left home (one hour away), flight was still on time, despite impending blizzard. Tried to get my Stretch upgrade at the check-in kiosk, but it wouldn't give it to me. Very helpful and friendly F9 lady at the desk there by the kiosk helped me out and even gave my traveling companion (who is not Ascent) a free Stretch upgrade so we could sit together. Nice! Got to the gate 45 minutes early, got our mandatory Alterra, sat down, and the flight was canceled. I thought we'd sneak out before the storm. Rather surly clerk downstairs at the check-in counter processed our refund with no eye contact. Maybe he was having a bad morning. As we left the airport garage, I glanced at the board, our flight still showed on-time!

I received my plastic ER Ascent card in the mail. Can I swipe it at the kiosks to bring up my reservation? I see there is a magnetic strip on the back. I always used to use my YX card for this 'back in the day'.

I have not tried...give it a shot and let us know?

I wouldn't be surprised if there was nothing on it, and they were just using blanks for plastic credit cards which came with the mag-stripe built in. That said, mag-stripe readers are pretty common, does anyone have one who could check what's on their card? And if you wanted to be really cool, you could read the stripe data from one of your credit cards and write it back onto your Frontier card (assuming it had the same number of tracks).
