I got the "Activate Your Card Now!" email even though I already activated my card right after I got it! Seems like it's just a way for them to sell you something.

I finally got so fed up with Barclay's crummy customer service that I dumped the Frontier Mastercard in favor of Chase's Marriott Visa.

I was so fed up with the sales pitch, I yelled, "Just activate the card, and there was no sticker on the card". Bring back the good old days of doing business with US Bank. |

With the old WorldPerks card gone from US Bank, perhaps they would be interested in F9's business. The on-line link to activate the new card has no actual place to activate it. The activation area only shows that the current card (old Midwest MasterCard) was activated earlier this year. My new F9 MasterCard did not come with an activation sticker, either. |
I wonder if these new cards even have to be activated at all?
I went through the whole sales pitch thing, too. |

As Hoss indicates, it's probably a safe bet the card will self activate after a certain date. |

We have been informed by Epsilon, a marketing vendor we use to send emails to customers, that someone outside their company gained unauthorized access to files in their systems that included your email address. This has affected many of our credit cards under our various co-brands, including the brand on your card. Epsilon has assured us that the only information that was obtained was your name and email address. Please be assured your account and any other confidential or personally identifiable information were not at risk. It is possible you may receive spam email messages as a result which could potentially ask you for additional information about your account. Please note, Barclays will never ask you in an email to verify sensitive information such as your full account number, Username, Password or Social Security Number. Therefore, any email which does so should be treated suspiciously, even if it looks like it comes from Barclays. Part of the huge Epsilon breach, no doubt. Heard from all but one of my credit card companies (so far) with similar messages.
