I feel sorry for these people and hope there are no additional infected people.

Without having to click into link, 2nd Dallas patient with Ebola is a nurse (not saying name even though it's all over media) who flew on Frontier 1143 from Cleveland to Dallas, on Monday 10/13/14 and the following morning came down with a fever which was confirmed today as Ebola.

CDC reaching out to these passengers and word Frontier may have also been contacting them regarding this situation.

She must have taken advantage of those super low fares but why was she even allowed to fly, there needs to be some kind of protocol, like if you treat an ebola patient you cannot leave or have contact with people for a certain amount of days. If she was visiting friends or family do you think they really want her to visit since they probably knew she was treating this guy?

We seem to be building Ebola protocols on the fly (no pun intended), which seems inexcusable to me as we've known for years about the capabilities of the virus.

So a nurse was exposed to Ebola, and she chose to hop on an airplane and travel the U.S.?

Cool

What a clusterflog.

It sounds like that hospital had no idea what they were doing with respect to specialized isolation procedures.

The poor nurse from there who has contracted the virus issued a statement praising her colleagues as "the finest in the world." She must not get around much. The apparent lapses and failures in Dallas are as scary as Ebola itself.

That's not what some of her colleagues have been saying

If you are going to come down with Ebola, Cleveland is not the worst place to do it. 2 excellent health care systems: Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.

She's not in Cleveland, she flew home to Dallas. Apparently they are are going to transport her to Emory.

Is it a coincidence that a nurse who would evade travel restrictions would choose to fly on Frontier?

What we are doing is ignoring protocols which aready exist. CDC protocols include no travel by common carrier for 21 days after treating an Ebola patient. This nurse violated that protocol. Now whether she violated the protocol because she wasn't informed of it, didn't understand it, or just felt it didn't apply to her, we don't know.

Hopefully many countries will now do the right thing and ban Americans from traveling there.
