Preboarding of Rows 1 and 2?
Hi All,
As you can see, I'm quite new to the board. I ran a search for this, but couldn't find an answer. I fly Frontier occasionally. Once in awhile, I hear them preboard Ascent members AND rows 1 & 2. Sometimes they do not? Do you know why this is? What are the circumstances in which rows 1 & 2 are boarded early? I always book seats near the back of the plane, so that I don't have to worry about overhead bin space. If I knew that I'd be board first because of the row I was in, I would love to book myself in row 1 or 2. Thanks for your help. C |
depends...
From my experience, it has been the discretion of the FA or the GA.
When boarding full flights, FAs have told me to pre-board them in order to make sure they put away any carry-on items. PAX in row 1 do not have the luxury of space in front or above. Those in row two have very less if those in row 1 take it all. The over heard bins in front are usually closed during boarding so those in back do not take up all of the space up front. When the flight is not so full, then this is not necessary, and so are not usually included in pre-boarding. BTW, they probably don't want to have to deal with PAX complaining that they do not have space for their bags, especially women with large purses (no offense) that need to stow the bags. |

Rows 1 and 2 are also for Unaccompanied Minors. They get them in place before general boarding. If you have elite status on another airline, Frontier will match it. Then you will get early boarding. |
We board the first three rows first........ one reason....... Um's/ Parents with Children......Parents who act like children... :) Assent/Summit members and other reasons ...... ITs nice to start with rows 1-5 with all specials...... One reason bin space, the other for certain people needing extra time down the jet bridge.......yada.yada.yada. :)
Also for the Bin space....... Its a big problem, alot of pax like to stow there overhead bags in the overhead bins(rows 1-5) and then its a pain..... :( But anyhow......its all up to the FA(A postion) and the GAte Agent.......However most Gate agents are chomping at the bits to board. :( Anyhow........ Hope it helps. -FRNTbOY |
