Frontier may create second hub Airline frustrated by inability to acquire additional DIA gates By David Kesmodel, Rocky Mountain News July 3, 2003 Frontier Airlines would consider starting a secondary hub in Pittsburgh, St. Louis or another market if Denver International Airport failed to provide enough gates to accommodate its growth, a Frontier official said Wednesday. "Our evaluation would encompass any market where there's an opportunity," said Sean Menke, vice president of marketing at Denver-based Frontier. It seems impossible that DIA could be short on gates. They're not anywhere NEAR designed capacity. The A concourse is like a ghost town.

The A concourse is like a ghost town.</font> On Thursday, I saw a an F9 plane at the Mexicana gate for the first time (thought it was the Apple plane at first, but, no). F9 is probably trying to exert as much pressure as possible on DIA to swipe some of the A concourse UA gates. Poor Frontier. |
