Double Miles On Airtran
I like to fly Airtran with my EarlyReturns number. When I come home, I almost never receive credit. I Email EarlyReturns and wait, but nothing. Then, I give them a call. Ultimately, you may end up with double credit.
1) It may not work every time. 2) I did it in good faith since I hadn't received credit in a timely fashion after the flight or after the initial contact. Good Luck! |
Lot of lurkers, no posters, has anyone tried this?

Just boarding an Airtran flight now. Was unable to add my ER# at kiosk check in in MKE. Had added with online check-in on Saturday. When I got to the gate I asked the agent to add the info, and she was unable. She then called and was advised that F9 no longer has a partnership with Airtran? Seems odd. Looks like at the least I will have to call in and try this now. It would seem odd that they would continue the partnership now that they "share" a base in MKE.

When I read the title, I thought this was going to be a thread about a promotion by F9 to get double miles when flying on FL. Since FL is a head-to-head competitor in MKE of F9, that seemed somewhat perplexing.
Obviously, the text cleared up my misunderstanding. |
My hunch is that the Airtran partnership will come to an end soon.
Both Airtran and Frontier still have verbiage on their web site indicating the partnership is valid. http://www.airtran.com/faq/q/can_i_e..._frontier.aspx On the other hand, I did not see a place to enter an EarlyReturns number when making an Airtran booking. I would say Frontier should credit you in absence of any announcement otherwise. To be safe, I would grab screen shots of Airtran's site when making a booking. |
Just booked an Air Tran flight online and called Air Tran to add my new Frontier Early Returns account number to the reservation (there is no way to do that online). Both Air Tran and Frontier websites state one earns can miles on one for travel on the other. Will have to see if the Frontier miles actually post after my late June travel on Air Tran.

I've had several FL flights credited over to F9 recently. Only one went through automatically though and I had to make calls to both F9 and FL.
After those calls, I believe the best way to get F9 ER credit for flights on FL is to call FL. If you explain the issue to FL, they will look up your flights and "send" them over to F9. That seemed easier than calling F9 directly. They all showed up within a few days after my call. In terms of treatment on FL for F9 elites, it varies widely. At LGA and DEN, I was upgraded to business class. At MKE, they weren't aware of the partnership. At ATL, they said upgrades are not included. I suppose with the stretch product, the FL business class and F9 Stretch products are fairly comparable and out to be part of the partnership. Of course, since the merged F9 is a head on head competitor with FL at MKE, this partnership is not long for this world. |
