Chez Imogene. Not far from Place de Republique, and very close to the Oberkampf metro stop. Amazing little cafe known for sweet and savory crepes. They had a 3 course dinner for 18 Euro (Soup, Crepe, Dessert).

How about the Apicus at the Rue d'Artois? I passed by it and it looked so impressive that I wouldn't dare go there on my street clothes.

I haven't been there, but I know what you mean. One must dress appropriately in Paris.

Second that!!! I actually just came on the thread to post about Chez imogene. We lived a few blocks away for a while and loved it. It can get a bit busy. We went to josselin last time because it was closer for us and while Josselin was great, it was much heavier than imogene (and very busy)

Michelin star chef Helene darroze has a prix fixe 6 course tapas in "le salon" that is about 30 euros and is a pretty good way to feel fancy without dropping big bucks. It can be hit and miss, but it generally quite good overall. Tues-saturday I think. book on lafourchette.com

Le petit palais is free. it is a not a huge museum, but it is a beautiful building with a nice courtyard and a nice stop if you around the area.

Buy a "combin" ticket sainte chappelle plus conciergerie, that you buy at the conciergerie, starting there = skip the loooong lines once you go next door at the sainte chappelle

We cant get enough of Paris! Were spending the Thanksgiving holiday there, staying at the Hotel Scribe. We stayed at the Hyatt Vendome last year and really liked the area.

I recently has an exceptional fois gras which made me remember how much I like it and that its been years since I had great fois gras (that was at the Victor restaurant, I went back there on another trip and it wasnt the same).

Anyhow, Im again looking for restaurant recommendations, especially for fois gras.

Merci.

I enjoyed my dinner at Le Cosi tremendously and would happily dine there again. No foie gras at this Corsican/Provenal restaurant, but everything I had was excellent.

The Ty Breiz crperie was another very nice discovery.

While this is a good idea for a thread, I don't think that you can really rely on things posted back in 2009.

Maybe it is time to start a new thread on the subject?
