Why I love Paris
I would like to introduce a new thread where anyone could share the places he/she loves in Paris, and makes this city so special
Waiting for your (numerous) posts ^

La pâtisserie des Ręves
What :
haute couture pastry shop
Where:
93, rue du Bac 75 007 Paris
Why is it so special:
The opening, early September, looked like the launch of the i-Phone: a long line of excited parisiens willing to discover this (tiny) new shop.
The "collection" by Philippe Conticini of pastries is very creative and simply delicious.
The (slim), smiling and superb ladies in the shop, who seem to wear Lanvin couture collection, give you the feeling to be Place Vendôme rather than in a pastry shop. A waken dream

Au Petit Chavignol
What:
Tiny local bistro, specialising in Aveyron dishes
Where:
78, rue de Tocqueville, 75017 Paris
Why:
The gratin dauphinois alone would do it for me. I only know this place because of friends who live round the corner: you'd walk past it otherwise. But to me, it's the perfect little local place to eat. Unpretentious, good value, bustling, and excellent regional food.

L'Etoile d'Or
What
a fabulous little chocolate shop
Where
Check it out here
Why
They carry Bernachon chocolate (which is very hard to find) and the best buttery caramels I've ever had. The owner is quirky but really knows her chocolate. Just don't touch the candy bars. The heat from your hand will do them no good .

l'Auberge Pyrénées Cévennes
What
Typical restaurant
Where
106, rue de la Folie Méricourt 75011 Paris
+33 1 43 57 33 78
Why
Unlike its name should mention, it mainly provides dishes from Lyon (like saucisson chaud, quenelles, tablier de sapeur etc...) but also from Toulouse region (like cassoulet).
Staff is from Lyon.
Great atmosphere and service, always full. Almost impossible to finish any portion given their sizes unless you have not eaten since 3 days.

Breaking the format a bit as I'm in a rush:
Love Harry's New York Bar...it is just a bar, not a cafe.
Also love walking Rue Cler, getting provisions for a picnic (wine, cheese, bread, meat, dessert, veggies and fruits) and then making my way to the Tower to enjoy it all in a great setting or to Louxembourg Garden.

Coco & Co.
This small restaurant on the left bank (11,rue Bernard Palissy, 75006 Phone: 01 45 44 02 52) is absolutely great - particularly for egg dishes. Definitely go for breakfast or brunch on the weekends - but you need reservations for weekend brunch. Great service and absolutely fabulous variety of egg dishes. Make sure you get a table upstairs in the back - and duck if you are over 6' tall. This place is about 2 long blocks from Deux Magots in St. Germain.
