What sort of hotel are you looking for?

I like ratestogo.com for stays within the next 21 days. There is also parisinfo.com for hotels and other tourist info. I don't like staying at American chain hotels, so these sites are great. Of course, I also check the hotel ratings/prices on tripadvisor.com

try Hotwire
I'm seeing **** in 5eme and 6eme for 109e, in 9eme for 96e, a *** in 2eme for 77e.
No bidding required, but it is a blind site; you don't know which place just the number of stars (their system!) and approximate locale.
I've had some very good luck with Hotwire in Paris, getting Hilton near Eiffel Tower for $99/night (there's a Paris Hilton joke in there somewhere!), but this was 3 years ago.
