Hotel & itinerary - Paris?

Hi, I'm taking my OH to Paris for a birthday weekend, mid March. We've been to Paris once before & 'done' the sights (but would not say we know the city at all), so I am simply looking for a relaxing & nice weekend. We arrive into Orly on a Friday evening & return from Orly Sunday evening.

I am turning myself over to those who know better than I - any ideas for an itinerary & a suitable hotel (can be luxury, its a special birthday) - oh and perhaps some ideas for special places to eat - we both love eating..... What would you do?

Thank you in advance for your advice & help.

We stayed last year at the Hôtel Napoléon (40 Avenue de Friedland) which is 1 block from the Arc de Triomphe. Other great hotels location wise is the Westin Paris and the Grand Intercontinental.

Romance wise, I would definitely recommend a Seine evening dinner cruise (Bateaux Parisiens River Cruises) - an unforgettable experience. Get the upgraded package which allows nicer wine & entrees, not to mention a table at the front.

And, last but not least - go to Willi's Wine Bar m(13 Rue des Petits Champs) for some great wine and food.

Brilliant, thank you very much for your recommendations.

I've been looking at the George V hotel - rated well on Trip Advisor. Could I ask if anyone has any experience of it?

Also, can anyone advise me how much a taxi may cost from Paris Orly airport into the centre of the city?

Thanks in advance

A taxi from Orly should be about 50 Euros.
I never stay at the $$$$ hotels, but the Ritz is rated the most romantic.

How about the restaurant at Hotel Crillon for brunch on Sunday?

You can also check out the below site for a ballpark figure on the taxi rate - a lot depends on the time element:
