Paris shuttle bus
We'll be arrived in Paris at 8am and need to know if there is any good shuttle bus from the CDG airport to the hotel.
Thanks |
You can take an AF bus pretty much into different areas of Paris. Hopefully it's close enough to walk to your hotel from there.
Otherwise a cab from CDG into the city is 50-60euros. |
You can also take the metro from CDG to various points within downtown Paris.

Wrong-the Metro does not go to CDG airport.
I've used these guys for a shuttle.. http://www.paris-blue-airport-shuttle.fr/index_en.php They serve most of Paris. It depends on the city region, but they can help you figure it out. |
My bad. Indeed, I meant the RER from CDG to points downtown. I believe it's line B which stops at Gare du Nord then Les Halles before continuing onwards. From these stations it's an easy transfer to the Metro and then more or less anywhere in the city.
Having said that, dragging luggage through the metro could be a painful experience as stations are not as connected as we North Americans might otherwise expect. |
Here's a summary of ways to get from CDG to Paris:
Getting to Paris from the Airport As for the OP's question concerning shuttles, I haven't taken one for a while as I was having such mixed luck with them (having tried a few different companies). Someone posted a while back in this forum about a company they liked but I don't remember which one. Private shuttles seem to be a bit more reliable than the shared ones. Otherwise, if public transport isn't convenient, there's always the option of taking a taxi. |

Hi KDHawaii, were the responses helpfull, assuming you are reading them?

Yes, the only way to get to CDG is through the RER B, which connects at Paris Nord and Chatelet, both of which are on multiple metro lines, especially Chatelet which is essentially one of the "hubs" of the Paris metro.
If you are flying Air France, they do have "les Cars Air France" which is basically a shuttle bus to the airport. I'd recommend that, but if you can't, leave at least an hour and a half extra for the commute. DO Not take a taxi, they are way too expensive in Paris |

I think there are 4 lines, but they go to stations (and Roissy), not hotels. I think the price is reasonable compared to the RER/Metro option since the AF shuttles are much more convenient. http://http://www.airfrance.com/doub...F?OpenDocument If one wants transport direct to a hotel, it's best to reserve one of the private shuttle services. I'll try to remember which one our usual (small) Paris hotel uses; they're pretty efficient, and, while not cheap, they're still a lot cheaper than a taxi. That's a total ripoff. |
you can also take the sightly cheaper bus from the airport to Opera/Auber. Where are you staying?
