how common is BNP Paribas? At CDG?

I have Bank of America. They have an agreement with BNP Paribas? Can I expect to see this bank all over paris or will I have to look a little to find some.

Also what about at CDG. We are arriving on American airlines. I will need some money for RER. I could use credit card if they take it, but hope to avoid foreign exchange counter. Is there a BNP Paribas anywhere nearby to get cash.

Hi,

BNP Paribas is one of the biggest french bank and you'll find plenty of ATM in Paris and France... except in CDG airport. Other banks have agency in the airport such as HSBC. As long as your card is a visa, you can withdraw money in all ATM. I advise you to withdraw cash at your arrival as you will always need some cash during your travel.

Bye,

I don't remember if BNP Paribas is at the airport, but they are pretty good about not giving you a stack of 50 euro notes. Some banks give you nothing but 50's, which is not too good if all you want is a cup of coffee. BNP is one and Credit Lyonnaise is another that will dispense smaller notes.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, bgomes!

If hindukid uses his credit card to withdraw cash at an ATM, he'll be charged a cash advance fee as well as interest on that amount.

A cheaper option would just be to purchase RER tickets with a credit card and then get cash from a BNP ATM in Paris.

Another option to get cash right away at the airport would just be to use any ATM and just consider BOA's out-of-network ATM fee as part of the price of getting cash--in the grand scheme of things that one-time expense isn't that huge.

Here you can search by arrondissement to find out where the BNP distributeurs (ATMs) are:

Société Générale is one of the biggest offenders for giving out 50-euro notes. In addition to the others you mentioned, Banque Populaire is another one that gives a good mix of smaller bills.

Hi
Just get sufficient change at the airport to pay for your transfert to Paris, then you will find BNP ATMs at almost every corner. If you only want some small notes, asking for a 50 Euro withdrawal will get you 10 and 20 euro notes, then once completed, do it again and again until you have the total amount you expected (no charge as a Bank of America customer)
